SgtHumphreyshadcompleteda ‘recce’andwasheadingbacktohis squadron location when he heard overtheradiothatsoldiersashort distanceawayhadcomeacrosstwo menonamotorbike,armedwitha
contributedtosavingthelivesofthe twosoldiers.
On learningofhis award, the 31-year-oldsaid:“Iwasreallysurprised,tobehonest,andveryproud Iwasjustdoingmyjobandalthough Ineverexpectedthisaward,itisa greathonour.”
Hiscitationalsodescribeshowin anothertwoseparateincidentshis actionsresultedinthedetentionof armedmenandtheseizureofweap ons.
