PROFILE Mr Kannan G Kannan is a Business Mentor to Start-ups, a Volunteer and an Advisor with an NGO and teaches Social Entrepreneurship at Indian School of Development Management. He is passionate about bridging the gap

between potential and actual performance, specially, in the social sector in Agriculture and Healthcare.

Kannan is an Investor in a few start-ups and is a Mentor to a few and also founded a start-up in the US and wound it up after 18 months.

Kannan has more than 2 decades of corporate experience with strong performance in the Consumer Goods space in general management, marketing, retail and sales functions. Kannan was Director – Retail for Nokia India and a member of the Nokia India Leadership Team.

Prior to that, he was with adidas for nearly 14 years in various roles, including as Managing Director for Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia and Head of Retail for South East Asia. He was a core member of the team that set up adidas in India and built the brand to the No.1 position by 2000.

Kannan’s first stint after his MBA from IIM, Calcutta was with Pond’s as

Brand Manager for Vaseline brand and then in Sales with HLL and attributes his early learnings to the 4 yrs in Ponds.
