Midcontinent Livestock Supplements was founded by Raymond Orwig, Sr. and incorporated in 1987. His vision was to develop a cost-effective way for producers to deliver required supplemental nutrients through a highly palatable, yet controlled consumption process. Building on the nutrition philosophy that Mr. Orwig, Sr. founded the company on with three strategically located manufacturing facilities and a knowledgeable sales team, MLS has grown to be the supplement of choice for multiple producers across the country.
We understand the challenges livestock producers face, so it only makes sense for us to help reduce labor, equipment needed, fuel costs and wasted supplement by incorporating low moisture tubs into your feeding and supplement program. We help you focus on getting more from your forages by providing palatable, concentrated nutrition in every lick. Our tubs are there for you all day every day, no matter the conditions.

From the Producer’s Point of View
The cattle that we typically deal with would be ultra-high risk. We are starting with an animal that is pretty compromised and we are using the #5 Stress Tub trying to get a handle on the health variable someway other than medicine.
We have no idea the history of the animal and their nutritional plane is just a big question mark, so that’s where the tubs step in and get all the animals on the same page to respond and get on feed.

I have a customer with 450 plus cows in one of his herds. They had 45 open cows at the end of the breeding season. The next year we got them to switch to the MLS #12 Breeder Mineral with fly control. With it having the organic trace minerals and being so palatable that everything was sure to eat it they only had 4 open cows at the end of breeding season. It also helped to greatly shorten up their calving window for the next year. It was the best choice to consistently get mineral into their cow herd with no waste!
~Mark Triggs Triggs FeedWe have been using Availa 4 in our mineral tubs for years now. It is a great product and we have seen our overall herd health being better and also our breed up on cows and heifers is also better. MLS has been great to work with for having a tub with consistent consumption and helping us get the right products at the right time for our area.

ALTOSID® IGR Feed Through is a Feed Supplement that Breaks the Life Cycle of the Horn Fly, the Most Costly Economic Pest of All Fly Species for Pasture Grazing Cattle.
• Reduces animal discomfort from biting horn flies
• Cuts down on cattle bunching and time spent in ponds, therefore allows for more time grazing and optimal pasture utilization
• Research shows help improving stocker cattle performance and can add an additional 25 to 30 lbs in calves over the grazing season
• MLS low-moisture tubs allow for highly palatable uniform ALTOSID® IGR intake across entire herd
Horn Fly Facts
• Horn flies are weak fliers, typically staying on the same host animal for their entire life span resulting in adequate horn fly control even if your neighbors do nothing for their cattle herd
• Horn Flies average 40 blood meals per day
• Horn Flies typically congregate on the backs of cattle. They only leave the host animal to fly down and lay eggs in fresh manure piles
ClariFly® Larvicide is a Feed Through Supplement that Prevents House Flies, Stable Flies, Face Flies and Horn Flies from Developing in and Emerging from the Manure of Treated Animals. ClariFly® Larvicide Works by Interrupting the Fly’s Life Cycle, Rather than Through Direct Toxicity.
• Versatile larvicide approved for use in both equine and cattle
• Controls four fly species making it ideal for application in confinement situations
• Controls face flies which are known to aggravate the conditions and incidence of pink eye
• MLS low-moisture tubs allows for highly palatable uniform ClariFly® intake across all animals in your groups
Fly Facts
• Stable fly irritation can contribute to increased “heat stress” in cattle reducing performance during the summer months
• House flies have been implicated as vectors for the transmissions of 65 disease organisms
• Face flies can cause tissue damage while feeding on fluids around the eye which can compound the affects of Pink Eye
CELMANAX™ is a Multi-Function Prebiotic Feed Additive that Offers Numerous Benefits to Health and Performance that can Help Increase Productivity Throughout the Life Cycle of an Animal. Along with a Full Dose of Yeast Culture the Revolutionary Enzymatic Hydrolysis Process Used to Manufacture CELMANAX™ Yields Highly Bioavailable Refined Functional Carbohydrates: (RFC= MOS, Mannose & Beta Glucans)
MOS supports growth of beneficial bacteria like Lactobacillus and Bifodobacterium
Mannose has been shown to bind pathogenic bacteria like E. coli and Salmonella
Beta Glucans support the immune system and binds mycotoxins
Other RFC’s can help prevent protozoa like Cocci and Cryptosporidium from attaching to the intestinal wall and causing disease
Helps prepare the immune system ahead of a challenge
Improved feed conversion and feed efficiency
Can help reduce negative effects associated with mycotoxins in feed
Helps maintain performance year round, including heat stress conditions
Can help reduce mortality by mitigating harmful bacteria and protozoa pathogens
ESSENTIOM™ is a Rumen By-Pass Source of Omega-3 and Omega-6 Essential Fatty Acids (EFA’s) to Help Aid in Cattle Reaching Optimal Reproductive Success.
ESSENTIOM™ supports calving immune health and reduction in metabolic disease
EFA’s support a faster return to estrus cyclicity
EFA’s are also linked to increased conception rates and reduced early embryonic losses
Maintains health during reproductive transitions for increased performance and reproductive success
• Supports shortened calving window
• Highly palatable delivery system and 24/7 availability with inclusion in MLS a low-moisture tub ensures proper nutrient delivery at the desired time and eliminates the need to hand feed
