The concept for this project is the past, present, and future. Taking spaces that were once active train tracks and turning them into green spaces for the working class people of Vernon to use. A series of water features are also incorporated to treat stormwater runoff. Gardens and parks are incorporated into the design for the benefit of the community. Old train tracks peak through the ground to keep a moment in Vernon’s history alive. The land once used by trains will now become green spaces that can be used by the community of Vernon. The placement of the green interstitial spaces was chosen for possible future developments in Vernon such as the West Side Project.
The Ranger Station is meant to inform on native flora and fauna along with water conservation. It will host information exhibits on the Nike missile control site and its history. Visitors may also engage in the film and celebrity culture of Mulholland.

The Collection of Human Emotions is intended to be a museum and affordable grave site that parallels the stages of grieving with tumultuous moments of history in Los Angeles. This museum is unique because it welcomes everyone to reflect and understand displacement through local art wok and workshop spaces. The Tongva, Chinese, Italian and Latino cultures were kept in mind while developing this project.

This project is a multi-level grocery store with speakeasies as an entertainment element. Co-tenants will work together to allow the grocery store to function by day and the speakeasies to function by night. This project also focuses on the element of time and transformation. Function, materiality, program, facade all transform in the project. Change is inevitable, but one can adapt to it.
