Variety is the spice of life!!!

A season ends and another begins... What a glorious summer and bountiful season! But summer is now over as you can tell by the frosty nights and chilly days. However, that doesn’t mean local food comes to an end! We begin the transition to eating root crops such as potatoes, squashes and storing up on onions and more! Hopefully you have preserved much of the summer harvest to enjoy in the cold days of winter by storing the season’s abundance in jars and in the freezer. But local bounty doesn’t stop in the fall or winter. You can still eat meat, eggs, honey and much more all season long. Keep an eye on the Taste Of Timmins website for updates on how to access local food year round... Still more markets!!! There are still 3 more weeks of farmers markets and we’ve made an easy list of dates for you to follow. Take advantage of the many opportunities still left to stock up on all the variety the Timmins area and region have to offer!
