Earth Day 2011
Thank you for helping make “Our Food System” workshop a tremendous success! If you participated in Earth Day by attending the Taste Of Timmins workshop “Our Food System” you should be proud! You contributed to a better system by educating yourself on the topic of food and how to become more socially and environmentally responsible via the choices you make everyday about the food you buy and eat. If you wanted to attend but weren’t able to, fret not, we will be making the workshop available on DVD. Check our “Events” page for details. We have had a tremendous response from those who attended the workshop. We’ve also received many questions that weren’t able to be addressed after the workshop (during the questions & answer period) due to time. This has promted us to create a new section on the website to address your most important questions. Each week Rosalia Rivera will read one of your questions and answer them directly via video, which will be viewable through the website. So send us your questions and stay tuned for the new page launching May 5th. In the meantime, we hope you will attend our exciting upcoming events in May. The Food Diva, Chef Maribel, will be coming in less than two weeks! If you’d like to purchase tickets for the “Cutting Edge Of Child’s Play” screenings visit Little Lamb to pick up your tickets as of April 27th! The cost for each ticket is $1.99 and all proceeds go to Chef Maribel’s Food Bank Program ‘The 30 Million Dollar Challenge”!
Did you know May 28th has officially been declared Honey Bee Day in Timmins?! It has! And on it’s inaugural day we will be hosting a film screening of a most important documentary: “Vanishing Of the Bees”.
