The customer uploads order information, including variable data specific to test location and candidate, along with training or session unique proctor documents. The variable data is merged with the appropriate exam version and then spiraled to ensure variance between participants. QR Codes are embedded for security, tracking, scoring, and auditing purposes.

Books can be customized to target a specific location, event, or corporate client. Finished packets include both variably printed, and static or region specific products. Final destinations include domestic and global conferences and corporate events with Elanders printing in or near country.

Elanders developed a solution to efficiently produce reference and resource books, study guides, practice exams, proctor kits, and candidate-specific exams.

ENHANCED TEST SECURITY

Elanders developed a customized solution that originates with an order file exported out of the customer’s current system, including a unique serial number for each exam, and built-in spiraling of versions to enhance security and protect proprietary materials. Orders are printed on-demand, including exams, support material, and a customized inventory form that lists all exams included in the order, along with their serial number sequence for verification.

Elanders developed a program to maximize the customer’s market opportunity and maintain a smooth flow of information by utilizing a combination of print processes. Our solution includes a few high volume publications being printed and put into inventory, with the majority of materials being printed ondemand. Elanders receives order files from the customer’s on-line store through a web API in real-time. Additional order streams include downloading orders from Amazon.com, and receiving orders via e-mail.

Orders received by midnight ship out the next business day requiring books to be pulled from inventory or produced and shipped same day. Customers receive shipment notification emails containing ship date, carrier name, tracking numbers, and a link to the carrier’s website.

AUTOMATED ORDERING OF STUDY MATERIALS

A national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing professional licensure for engineers and surveyors, was looking to automate their current ordering process for study materials.

They also wanted to eliminate or reduce inventory of frequently revised materials, while fulfilling their guarantee of next business day delivery.

The client produces two sizes of products, the first is large print test books in an 11.5” x 15” coil bound format for the visually impaired.

All files are submitted in an 8.5” x 11” format and Elanders adjusts the files to customer specific guidelines. The second product type is variable barcoded test booklets. Elanders receives static test files along with a range of barcode numbers and merges the two to create a custom print file.

Testing materials are highly secure and, in some cases, can require special delivery instructions, including locked boxes for transport.

Quantities are strictly adhered to, all print and waste material must be accounted for. To accommodate the precise needs of the customer, Elanders’ program utilizes stringent procedures to track all tests throughout the production process. All waste is disposed of through our “Secure Waste” procedure.

A K-12 assessment solutions provider of high-quality assessment experiences for schools, districts and states, was looking for a solution to provide custom and standardized tests and testing materials in quantities too small for web-based printing.

The trainers wanted the ability to create custom materials based on the needs of the individuals or specific to training topics. Elanders upgraded their current online ordering site to include the ability to customize the training materials.

Trainers select the chapters or system manuals required, the elements are produced on-demand, drilled, then placed into a 3-ring binder. Optional tab sets are produced as requested and placed inside the binder. CDs as a duplicate of the custom training kit are available in place of or as a supplemental to the printed kit. The system dynamically generates a Table of Contents and Spine Card specific to the custom built binder.

Elanders Americas developed a web-based e-Commerce site that allows dealers to perform quick but detailed product searches to find and place orders for the requested material. The site also integrates with Elanders content repository to ensure that the most-up-to date version is distributed. Elanders routes each order to the regional print and fulfillment centers around the world where they are produced and shipped locally or regionally. Elanders then invoices each dealer for publication purchases and reconciles with the manufacturer on a monthly basis for monies collected.
