A summer dress with a
story for every Mim-pi girl! The bodice is a combination of cotton and Lycra for a comfortable fit. The beaded neckline clicks off with two buttons and is easy to remove before washing. The print on the skirt is inspired by an original fabric from the Hmong people in Vietnam. The tribal feel of the print gives the dress a unique and exotic look. Mim-Pi loves to accessorise and add detail, so we attached colourful ribbons to the bottom of the skirt. Adorable! Washing instructions: Wash with delicates

Gypset’s
Julia Chaplin First there was Gypset Style, next came Gypset Travel. Both are stunning coffee table books by Julia Chaplain describing Gypset fashion, lifestyle and travel. What started as an off the radar subculture, is now a whole generation of Gypsetters. And they’re here to stay. Julia, a travel writer for ELLE, New York Times and Condé Nast, covered stories during which she encountered people whom she later dubbed ‘Gypsetters’. They were creative people, like artists or models or photographers living in places that are sort of ‘secret’ and off the beaten track. Julia noticed that although they lived a somewhat wandering, nomadic lifestyle, they did very jet set-y things. And as she travelled to more places, she uncovered that these global nomads knew each other, like a worldwide movement. In her books, Julia traces Gypsetting back to the Victorian times and the likes of geographer/explorer Richard Burton and aristocrat Jane Digby. The latter lived a scandalous life full of affairs and travel to exotic places. She then writes about the Gypsetting ‘boom’ in the sixties with the Rolling Stones for example, who single-handedly turned Marrakech and Ibiza into international hippy hot spots. These Gypset destinations have a bit of a mystique to them, but at the same time they are emerging places for uber-trendy and super-fashionable restaurants and boutiques, catering to a hip lifestyle. The difference lies in exploring Mallorca instead of St. Tropez. Touring Puglia and not Tuscany. Rather choosing Nicaragua instead of Costa Rica. It’s in the nuances, the uncovered gems, and the migration of Gypsetters to a specific destination that makes it an ultimate Gypset-zone. The ‘Atlas’ on Julia’s site, gypset.com, is a great tool to understand these nuances. Here, Gypsetters add their super secret Gypset locations to a world map. Julia’s books both made the New York Times Best-seller List. Gypset Travel instantly seized the number one spot in the Amazon.com Top Ten Lifestyle and Photography Books. Fashion Magazines such as Vogue and ELLE are filled with Gypset-inspired spreads. In short, the lifestyle is booming.

Eerst was er Gypset Style, daarna kwam Gypset Travel. Beide boeken zijn prachtige bundels over Gypset-mode, lifestyle en reizen, samengesteld door Julia Chaplain. Wat ooit begon als een enigszins hippy underground beweging, is nu een hele nieuwe generatie Gypsetters. Julia, reisjournalist voor ELLE, de New York Times en Condé Nast, ontmoette fascinerende mensen over de hele wereld. Later noemde ze hen Gypsetters. Dan neemt Julia een sprong in de tijd naar de jaren zestig, toen de Rolling Stones er eigenhandig voor zorgden dat Ibiza en Marrakech internationale hippy hotspots werden. Typische Gypset bestemmingen zijn een tikkeltje mysterieus, maar zijn ook plaatsen waar über-trendy restaurants en super-hippe boetieks de kop opsteken. Het verschil zit em in Mallorca verkennen in plaats van St Tropez. De Puglia-regio te touren en Toscane juist over te slaan. Op gypset.com, de site die Julia lanceerde als virtuele ontmoetingsplek voor Gypsetters over de hele wereld, is de ‘Atlas’ een handig hulpmiddeltje om de verschillen tussen Gypset en niet-Gypset te herkennen. Hier kunnen Gypsetters namelijk hun supergeheime bestemmingen invullen. Julia’s boeken hebben allebei op de New York Times bestseller lijst gestaan. Gypset Travel steeg zelfs gelijk naar nummer één in de Top Tien van lifestyle- en fotografie boeken op Amazon.com. Nu wijden bladen zoals Vogue en ELLE pagina na pagina aan Gypset-geïnspireerde mode. Kortom, de lifestyle is booming.

How to make your own feather headband

of paint chip colours. I decided to go with a soft palette of peaches and sandy greys. Be sure to use the
large paint chip samples or you can even use a variety of colours from this card stock.
Cut out a basic feather shape. This doesn’t have to be perfect. In fact, the more organic the better. Then use scissors, I like to use small craft/paper scissors for more precision, to cut out little notches from the sides
Supplies: Large Paint Samples or Card Stock Decals, Buttons and Jewels Hot Glue Gun Scissors Ribbon
to create a feathered look.
Pick out a corresponding ribbon (or webbing as I used here) for the headband. Measure your child’s head and cut (leaving enough room for band to overlap when it will need to be glued together).
Choose from a selection of fun decals for the band, such as jewels, buttons and more. Glue the feathers onto the headband using hot glue. Then place and hot glue on the decals you have chosen for the band (have your little one get involved in this step! Together you can pick out what you want to use. They can even help pick out feather and headband colours as well).
Once everything is dry and cooled down, measure on your child’s head once more. Mark the spot where the band needs to come together and hot glue one strip over the other (or you can glue or sew on Velcro if you want to go with an adjustable band).
Create more for your little one’s friends and then throw a little tea party! Have fun playing dress up for the rest of the afternoon! 38

Ze gingen er al naartoe op vakantie toen ze jong waren, en nu noemen ze het hun thuis. Het was niet een overhaaste beslissing, maar ook zeker niet bewust getimed. Ze hadden toendertijd twee peuters, Julia was zwanger van de derde en ze was eigenaar van een leuke boetiek in Den Bosch. Zich afvragend of de timing voor zo’n ingrijpende verhuizing ooit perfect is, kozen ze een datum, begonnen ze met inpakken en niet lang daarna reden ze in een volgeladen auto naar hun nieuwe huis in de zon.
