LIVRAISON & STOCKAGE

Jean Benotteau... Une vie guidée par la passion et la persévérance

L’histoire de Jean commence en pleine tourmente de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, dans la ferme de Sainte-Marie, à quelques kilomètres de la Rochelle. Enfant de neuf ans, il grandit dans un territoire marqué par les combats, à deux pas du QG des forces françaises, la ferme de l’Orange. Un jour, une jeep entre dans la cour familiale. Ce fut un instant décisif, un moment d’éblouissement qui marquera son destin. Dans son esprit de jeune garçon, une certitude s’imprime : « Un jour, c’est moi qui serai au volant. »

Les années passent, et une autre ambition prend forme : Jean veut devenir pilote de l’Armée de l’air. Inspiré par les récits de Saint-Exupéry, il nourrit ce rêve avec une détermination sans faille. Mais la réalité le rattrape : un souffle systolique découvert lors de sa formation à Aulnat met un terme brutal à son projet. Le ciel lui échappe, mais pas son désir d’aller plus loin.

Jean ne renonce pas. De retour à Sainte-Marie, il embrasse la vie d’agriculteur tout en poursuivant sa passion pour l’aviation. À 25 ans, il décroche un brevet de pilote privé à La Roche-sur-Yon et cherche sans cesse à se perfectionner. Mais la vie lui impose une nouvelle épreuve : en 1985, un accident de travail le contraint à une amputation. Une épreuve physique et morale qui l’anéantit pendant des années.

Jean’s story begins at the height of the Second World War, on the farm of Sainte-Marie, a few kilometers from La Rochelle. As a nine-year-old boy, he grew up in an area marked by fighting, just a stone’s throw from the French forces’ HQ, Ferme de l’Orange. One day, a jeep entered the family yard. It was a decisive moment, a dazzling experience that would shape his destiny. In his young mind, a certainty was imprinted: «One day, I’ll be the one behind the wheel.

As the years went by, another ambition took shape: Jean wanted to become an Air Force pilot. Inspired by the stories of Saint-Exupéry, he nurtured this dream with unfailing determination. But reality caught up with him: a systolic murmur discovered during his training at Aulnat put an abrupt end to his project. The sky was falling, but not his desire to go further.

Jean did not give up. Back in Sainte-Marie, he embraced the life of a farmer while pursuing his passion for aviation. At the age of 25, he obtained his private pilot’s license in La Roche-sur-Yon, and was constantly striving to improve his skills. But life threw him another curve: in 1985, a work accident forced him to have an amputation. A physical and moral ordeal that devastated him for years.

Jean Benotteau... L’âme d’un collectionneur...

Jean trouve alors dans la reconstitution et la préservation du patrimoine militaire une nouvelle force, un nouveau combat. Pendant 30 ans, avec un courage et une opiniâtreté hors du commun, il constitue une collection unique. Véhicules, objets, souvenirs… chaque pièce raconte une histoire, chaque acquisition est une victoire. Malgré son handicap, il sillonne la France et même l’Angleterre, assisté par des amis fidèles et des mécaniciens passionnés. L’un d’eux confiera récemment : « Il était capable de retourner en Angleterre juste pour la dimension d’un rivet. »

Les commémorations et les manifestations deviennent pour Jean des rendez-vous incontournables. Grâce à sa collection, il tisse des amitiés solides, notamment avec Philippe Croizon, Maurice Lenoury et bien d’autres. Pourtant, un mystère demeure : Comment a-t-il découvert le Long Range Desert Group (LRDG), cette unité mythique de la Seconde Guerre mondiale ? Ce lien reste une énigme, un maillon inconnu de son incroyable parcours.

Mais en 2020, la pandémie de Covid-19 frappe, bouleversant son quotidien. Privé des rassemblements et des échanges qui le faisaient vibrer, il voit son activité se ralentir brutalement. La maladie finit par l’emporter en juin 2023, mettant un terme à cette passion qui l’avait porté pendant des décennies.

Aujourd’hui, alors que sa collection s’apprête à changer de mains, elle demeure le témoignage vibrant de son engagement et de sa ténacité. À travers chaque objet, chaque véhicule, c’est un fragment de son rêve qui se perpétue, une histoire qu’il aurait aimé voir continuer à être racontée.

Jean then found in the reconstitution and preservation of military heritage a new strength, a new struggle. For 30 years, with extraordinary courage and determination, he built up a unique collection. Vehicles, objects, souvenirs... each piece tells a story, each acquisition is a victory. Despite his handicap, he criss-crossed France and even England, assisted by loyal friends and passionate mechanics. One of them recently confided: “He was capable of returning to England just for the size of a rivet.”

For Jean, commemorations and events are a must. Thanks to his collection, he forged solid friendships, notably with Philippe Croizon, Maurice Lenoury and many others. Yet one mystery remains: how did he discover the Long Range Desert Group (LRDG), that mythical Second World War unit? This link remains an enigma, an unknown link in his incredible journey

But in 2020, the Covid-19 pandemic strikes, turning his daily life upside down. Deprived of the gatherings and exchanges that used to thrill him, he saw his activity slow abruptly. Illness finally claimed him in June 2023, putting an end to the passion that had sustained him for decades.

Today, as his collection prepares to change hands, it remains a vibrant testament to his commitment and tenacity. Through each object, each vehicle, a fragment of his dream lives on, a story he would have liked to see continue to be told.

ARMEMENT EN VENTE

WEAPONS ON SALE

The weapons offered in the auction are neutralised to the new European standards by the Saint Etienne Proof House in 2024-2025, at the buyer’s expense.

The weapons must be declared with a certificate of registration and a medical certificate less than 1 month old or a stamped licence or a valid hunting licence (art. R312-56), by the buyer.

L’histoire se déroule en octobre 1942, à Tobrouk, où un commando français fait sauter des dépôts d’essence de l’AfrikaKorps. Quatre soldats parviennent à s’enfuir et se retrouvent perdus dans le désert. Le film met en vedette de grands acteurs tels que Lino Ventura, Charles Aznavour et Hardy Krüger.

On y découvre l’histoire poignante d’un officier allemand capturé par des soldats français en Libye pendant la Seconde Guerre mondiale.

On Saturday June 7, the Rois & Vauprès auction house and Military Classic Auction will take you on a tour of the film “Un Taxi pour Tobrouk”. Released in 1961, it was directed by Denys de La Patellière and written by Michel Audiard.

The story takes place in October 1942, in Tobruk, where a French commando blows up AfrikaKorps fuel depots. Four soldiers manage to escape, only to find themselves lost in the desert. The film stars such great actors as Lino Ventura, Charles Aznavour and Hardy Krüger.

It tells the harrowing story of a German officer captured by French soldiers in Libya during the Second World War.

Oubliées de la seconde guerre mondiale, les batailles menées au proche orient, désert et d’Afrique du Nord restent cependant un épisode important du conflit avec la défaite de l’AfrikaKorps et son repli définitif en Europe.

Dès 1941, l’armée Britannique avec les unités du L.R.D.G, Long Rang Desert Group, puis les unités commandos S.A.S, Special Air Service, organisent des opérations de harcèlement sur les troupes de l’AfrikaKorps et de la Luftwaffe. Les missions menées sur l’arrière des lignes de front sont rapides et brèves, parfois nocturnes… destruction d’avions et terrains d’aviation, convois de ravitaillement, dépôts d’essence, unités de transmission, ayant pour objectifs la déstabilisation des unités habituées à des combats plus conventionnels ainsi que l’installation d’un sentiment de crainte général des troupes…

Pour mener à bien ces missions, la Jeep s’avère indispensable et l’outil de la plus grande efficacité. Destinée à de longues missions dans le désert dans des conditions climatiques et terrains extrêmes, les Jeep S.A.S sont modifiées et adaptées à ces contraintes. Dans son projet de passionné, Jean Benotteau s’efforcera à respecter les standards d’origine et détails spécifiques des Jeep S.A.S.

Forgotten during the ww2, the battles fought in the Near East, the desert and North Africa nevertheless remained an important episode in the conflict, with the defeat of the AfrikaKorps and its definitive withdrawal to Europe.

As early as 1941, the British army, with units of the L.R.D.G. (Long Rang Desert Group) and then the S.A.S. (Special Air Service) commando units, organized harassment operations against AfrikaKorps and Luftwaffe troops. The missions carried out behind the front lines were quick and brief, sometimes at night... destruction of aircraft and airfields, supply convoys, fuel depots, signal units, with the aim of destabilizing units used to more conventional combat, and instilling a general feeling of fear in the troops...

To carry out these missions, the Jeep is indispensable and the most effective tool. Intended for long desert missions in extreme climatic and terrain conditions, S.A.S Jeeps are modified and adapted to these constraints. In his passionate project, Jean Benotteau strives to respect the original standards and specific details of Jeep S.A.S.

Peinte de couleur jaune sable pour se camoufler dans les étendues désertiques, cette évocation de Jeep S.A.S réunie de nombreux détails conformes aux modifications d’origine dont l’absence de pare-brise afin d’éviter les reflets du soleil trahissant leur présence.

Pour améliorer le refroidissement du moteur, les volets de la mythique calandre de jeep sont coupés et un imposant vase d’expansion est rajouté afin d’augmenter le volume d’eau dans le circuit.

Des racks additionnels sont montés sur les côtés et le capot pour transporter un grand nombre de jerrycans à essence afin d’augmenter l’autonomie de la jeep. À l’arrière trois pneumatiques military de rechange, impératifs au roulage sur les cailloux saillants et tranchants du désert.

Lourdement armée et assurant une puissance de feu lors des attaques rapides, elle est équipée de deux supports permettant le montage de quatre mitrailleuses Vickers type K. Les boussoles traditionnelles étant inefficaces avec la tôle des automobiles, les commandos SAS utilisent le compas solaire type Bagnold, invention du fondateur des unités du Long Rang Desert Group.

Painted sandy yellow to camouflage it in the desert, this evocation of a Jeep S.A.S features numerous details in line with the original modifications, including the absence of a windshield to avoid sun glare betraying its presence.

To improve engine cooling, the flaps of the legendary Jeep grille are cut off, and an imposing expansion tank is added to increase the volume of water in the circuit.

Additional racks are mounted on the sides and hood to carry a large number of petrol jerrycans and increase the jeep’s range. At the rear, three spare military tires are fitted, essential for driving over the sharp, protruding stones of the desert.

Heavily armed and providing firepower for rapid attacks, it is fitted with two brackets for mounting four Vickers type K machine guns. As traditional compasses are ineffective with automobile sheet metal, SAS commandos use the Bagnold solar compass, invented by the founder of the Long Rang Desert Group units.

Afin de ne pas dénaturer une rare Jeep Willys ou Ford early, Jean Benotteau a réalisé son projet sur une jeep de production Hotchkiss en conservant certains détails de production conformes à l’origine dont les jantes de combat, le volant en bakélite noire de fabrication Sheller-Usa et le manomètre de température d’eau Stewart Warner -Usa.

Stockée précieusement depuis le décès de son propriétaire, la Jeep est fonctionnelle et roulante mais nécessitera une révision du système de freinage et un contrôle général.

Immatriculée en carte grise française de collection avec un contrôle technique de mars 2022.

In order to avoid distorting a rare Willys or early Ford Jeep, Jean Benotteau based his project on a Hotchkiss production jeep, retaining certain original production details such as the combat rims, the black Sheller-Usa bakelite steering wheel and the Stewart Warner-Usa water temperature gauge.

Preciously stored since the death of its owner, the Jeep is functional and roadworthy, but will require an overhaul of the braking system and a general inspection.

Registered with a French collector’s registration card, with a technical inspection dated March 2022.

Après la Première Guerre mondiale et ses études d’ingénieur, il est affecté en service successivement en Égypte puis en Inde, passant son temps libre à étudier les zones désertiques.

Quittant l’Armée britannique, il parcourt en automobile, de 1932 à 1935, les déserts d’Égypte, du Sinaï et du Tchad, réputés infranchissables. Avec quelques compagnons d’infortune, il crée, applique et perfectionne des méthodes de roulage, de franchissement de dune, et surtout de navigation à travers le désert.

Ralph Bagnold constate immédiatement l’inefficacité des boussoles classiques soumis au champ magnétique de l’acier des automobiles. Il crée alors son propre système de navigation, le compas solaire de navigation. L’Armée égyptienne lui en commande plusieurs exemplaires.

À l’arrivée de la Seconde Guerre mondiale, Bagnold est au Caire et rejoint l’Armée Britannique avec la volonté de persuader l’état-major de créer une unité spéciale de patrouille de désert pour des opérations commandos contre l’Armée italienne puis l’AfrikaKorps plus tard. Recrutant une poignée d’aventurier, baroudeur d’Afrique, il crée le L.R.D.G. « Long Range Desert Group ».

Avec des moyens limités, l’Armée égyptienne accepte de lui céder une quinzaine de camion Chevrolet, quelques autres dénichés chez des garagistes locaux, puis bien évidemment quelques compas solaires type « Bagnold ». Ingénieur et géologue reconnu, scientifique et inventeur, Ralph Bagnold termine sa carrière à la NASA sur l’étude des ventes de sable sur la planète Mars…

After the First World War and his engineering studies, he was posted successively to Egypt and India, spending his free time studying desert areas.

Leaving the British army, from 1932 to 1935 he travelled by car across the deserts of Egypt, Sinai and Tchad, which were considered impassable. Together with a few unfortunate companions, he created, applied and perfected methods of driving, dune-crossing and, above all, desert navigation.

Ralph Bagnold immediately realized the ineffectiveness of conventional compasses when subjected to the magnetic field of automobile steel. So he created his own navigation system, the solar navigation compass. The Egyptian army ordered several units from him.

When the Second World War broke out, Bagnold was in Cairo and joined the British Army, intent on persuading the general staff to create a special desert patrol unit for commando operations against the Italian Army and later the Afrika Korps. Recruiting a handful of adventurers and African adventurers, he created the LRDG “Long Range Desert Group”.

With limited means, the Egyptian army agreed to let him have some fifteen Chevrolet trucks, a few others from local garages, and of course a few “Bagnold” solar compasses.A renowned engineer, geologist, scientist and inventor, Ralph Bagnold ended his career at NASA studying sand sales on Mars...

UN POUR TAXI TOBROUK

travers l’aventure désertique de soldats ennemis, Un Taxi pour Tobrouk est un véritable film d’acteurs, l’humanité, folie et raison restent au centre de cette réalisation cinématographique d’exception, loin des clichés des superproductions hollywoodiennes de l’époque… Réalisé en 1961, à peine une vingtaine d’années après la bataille, les esprits et la culture restent à vif sur une guerre ayant marqué les populations du monde entier. La distribution d’acteurs découle de ces années noires avec Lino Ventura qui fut enrôlé comme jeune soldat dans l’armée fasciste en Italie et un Hardy Krüger dans la SS en 1945…

Un film de guerre pour préparer la paix… Octobre 1942. A Tobrouk, port de la côte libyenne et théâtre de nombreuses batailles pendant la seconde guerre mondiale, quatre soldats français et leur prisonnier allemand vont découvrir le sens du mot solidarité, peu en cours, à cette période. Trois ans après la signature du Traité de Rome, l’idée d’une Europe enfin pacifiée s’impose peu à peu dans notre pays. Et en adaptant le roman de René Havard, Denys de la Patellière évite tous les clichés anti- Allemands en hausse exponentielle dans le cinéma français depuis la fin de seconde guerre mondiale. Et il signe une œuvre antimilitariste en partie inspirée par une histoire vraie : celle vécue par deux soldats allemands et danois, ennemis s’associant pour survivre en 1943 au cœur du Groenland où ils s’étaient égarés.

La langue d’Audiard…

«Quand on est cintré comme toi, on porte un écriteau, on prévient», «Deux intellectuels assis vont moins loin qu’une brute qui marche», «J’aime pas penser à reculons. Je laisse ça aux lopes et aux écrevisses»… On ne compte plus les répliques d’Un taxi pour Tobrouk passées à la postérité. Et derrière celles- ci, on retrouve un maître du genre, Michel Audiard, particulièrement fécond en ce début des années 60 où il enchaîne Le baron de l’Ecluse, Les vieux de la veille, Le Président… et l’inoubliable Un singe en hiver. Avec une inspiration jamais tarie.

Un tournage délocalisé…

Un Taxi pour Tobrouk a beau être un plaidoyer antimilitariste, il a subi de plein fouet les conflits coloniaux alors en cours en Afrique du Nord et en particulier la guerre d’Algérie. Aucune compagnie d’assurance n’étant prête à accompagner un tournage dans cette région de la planète, celui de Denys de la Patellière a dû être délocalisé au sud- est de l’Espagne, dans une région désertique proche d’Almeria, lieu qui deviendra le royaume du western spaghetti et où David Lean posa ses caméras l’année suivante pour Lawrence d’Arabie.

Un succès international… Grand Prix du Cinéma français 1961, Un taxi pour Tobrouk réunira presque cinq millions de spectateurs. Soit le plus gros succès français de cette année et le numéro 4 du box- office derrière Les 101 dalmatiens, Les canons de Navarone et Les sept mercenaires. Mais devant Spartacus et Don Camillo Monseigneur.

Through the desert adventure of enemy soldiers, A cab for Tobrouk is a true actors’ film, with humanity, madness and reason at the heart of this exceptional cinematographic achievement, far from the clichés of the Hollywood blockbusters of the time... Made in 1961, barely twenty years after the battle, minds and culture are still raw about a war that left its mark on people the world over. The cast reflects these dark years, with Lino Ventura enlisted as a young soldier in the Fascist army in Italy, and Hardy Krüger in the SS in 1945...

A war film to prepare for peace...

October 1942. In Tobruk, a port on the Libyan coast and the scene of numerous battles during the Second World War, four French soldiers and their German prisoner are about to discover the meaning of the word “solidarity”, which was not very much in use at the time. Three years after the signing of the Treaty of Rome, the idea of a Europe at last at peace was gradually taking hold in France. And in adapting René Havard’s novel, Denys de la Patellière avoids all the anti-German clichés that have been on the rise in French cinema since the end of the Second World War. His anti-militaristic film is partly inspired by a true story: that of two German and Danish soldiers, enemies who joined forces to survive in 1943 in the heart of Greenland, where they had become lost.

Audiard’s language...

“When you’re slim like you, you carry a sign, you warn”, ‘Two intellectuals sitting down go less far than a brute walking’, ”I don’t like to think backwards. I leave that to the lopes and the crayfish”... There are countless lines from A cab for Tobrouk that have gone down in history. And behind them, we find a master of the genre, Michel Audiard, who was particularly prolific in the early 60s, with his series of films including Le baron de l’Ecluse, Le Président... and the Un singe en hiver.

Relocated filming...

A cab for Tobrouk may have been an anti-militarist plea, but it had to bear the full brunt of the colonial conflicts then underway in North Africa, particularly the Algerian war. As no insurance company was prepared to support a shoot in this part of the world, Denys de la Patellière’s film had to be relocated to south-eastern Spain, in a desert region near Almeria, which was to become the realm of the spaghetti western, and where David Lean set up his cameras the following year for Lawrence of Arabia.

An international success...

Winner of French Cinema in 1961, A cab for Tobrouk attracted almost five million spectators. It was the biggest French success of the year, and number 4 at the box office behind The Guns of Navarone and The Magnificent Seven. But ahead of Spartacus and Don Camillo Monseigneur.

Tourné en 1960, au mauvais souvenir de l’après-guerre, le réalisateur et la production peinent à trouver des financements pour la réalisation d’un film à courant humaniste et dénonçant les absurdités du conflit. Il faudra l’alliance de Gaumont cinéma et la Franco London Film pour boucler un budget serré en lançant le tournage.

Trop loin et coûteux, les sites historiques des batailles du Proche-Orient sont vite oubliés et le tournage s’effectue en Espagne, à côté de Alméria en Andalousie, une zone aride fera la Libye et les dunes de Las Amoladeras le désert du Sahara. On y tournera d’ailleurs plus tard le célèbre film « Laurence d’Arabie ».

À cette époque et sur la zone, il sera impossible de dénicher ou louer des automobiles et camions militaires d’origine, authentiques des batailles de Libye… L’ingéniosité de l’équipe de tournage est indéniable, pour les convois de l’Afrikakorps on réquisitionne les camions des maraîchers locaux, avec armature bois et bâches de fabrication « maison », les chars sont des silhouettes en bois, on s’y croirait en 1941…

En parallèle d’un casting d’acteurs infaillible, reste à trouver un camion Morris CS, la bête de somme des troupes alliées des théâtres d’opérations libyen et egyptien… Plus de la moitié du film se déroulant avec et dedans le Morris.

Shot in 1960, in the post-war period, the director and production team struggled to find funding for a film with a humanist bent, denouncing the absurdities of the conflict. It took an alliance between Gaumont Cinema and Franco London Film to secure a tight budget and launch shooting.

Too far away and costly, the historic sites of the Middle East battles were quickly forgotten, and filming took place in Spain, near Almeria in Andalusia, an arid zone that would become Libya and the dunes of Las Amoladeras the Sahara desert. It was here that the famous film “Laurence d’Arabie” was later shot.

At the time and in the area, it was impossible to find or rent original military cars and trucks, authentic to the battles of Libya... The ingenuity of the film crew was undeniable: for the Afrikakorps convoys, they requisitioned trucks from local market gardeners, with wooden frames and home-made tarpaulins, and the tanks were wooden silhouettes, reminiscent of 1941...

Alongside an infallible cast of actors, all that remained was to find a Morris CS truck, the workhorse of Allied troops in the Libyan and Egyptian theaters of operation... More than half the film takes place with and in the Morris.

Faute de Morris, l’équipe décide de construire un exemplaire se rapprochant du modèle CS 8 sur la base d’un Land -Rover série 1. La mécanique, les ponts, moteur et boîte de vitesses, châssis, élément de cabines sont conservés et une carrosserie est totalement reconstruite dans les formes et dimensions du modèle d’époque. En couleur sable avec une balkenkreuz peinte sur le capot, l’illustre croix noire et liséré blanc de la Heer, fonctionnel et équipé d’une mitrailleuse Mg 42, notre Morris cinématographique « Taxi pour Tobrouk », sera également une vedette du film… A la suite du tournage, il fut certainement démonté pour une autre utilisation et disparu totalement comme la plupart des automobiles de cinéma…

Passionné et collectionneur acharné du film et cette période de l’histoire, Jean Benotteau, à force de persévérance réunit l’ensemble des informations oubliées, détails et éléments pour lancer la fabrication identique de l’exemplaire du Morris « Un Taxi pour Tobrouk ». Réalisé sur un châssis, cabine et mécanique de Land-Rover série 1, il reprend tous les détails de l’exemplaire du film. L’imposante calandre avec son faux radiateur à éléments séparés, son grand bouchon « FBW » avec le thermomètre de température intégré… Le capot et ses formes anguleuses reconstruites, le filtre air extérieur, les phares…

In the absence of a Morris, the team decided to build a model like the CS 8 based on a Land Rover Series 1. The mechanics, axles, engine and gearbox, chassis and cab elements were retained, and a body was completely rebuilt in the shapes and dimensions of the period model. Sand-colored with a balkenkreuz painted on the hood, the illustrious black cross and white border of the Heer, functional and equipped with a Mg 42 machine gun, our cinematic Morris “Taxi for Tobruk” was also a star of the film... Following filming, it was certainly dismantled for another use and disappeared completely like most cinema automobiles...

Enthusiast collector of the film and this period of history, Jean Benotteau, through perseverance, gathered together all the forgotten information, details and elements to launch the identical production of the Morris “Taxi for Tobruk”. Based on a Land Rover Series 1 chassis, cab and mechanics, it features all the details of the film model. The imposing radiator grille with its false radiator with separate elements, its large “FBW” cap with integrated temperature thermometer... The hood with its reconstructed angular shapes, the external air filter, the headlights...

2. Déroulement de la vente

Le commissaire-priseur dirigera la vente de façon discrétionnaire tout en respectant les usages établis ; elle se réserve le droit de refuser toute enchère, d’organiser les enchères de la façon la plus appropriée, de déplacer certains lots lors de la vente, de retirer tout lot de la vente, de réunir ou de séparer des lots, de désigner l’ adjudicataire, de poursuivre la vente ou de l’ annuler, ou encore de remettre le lot en vente. L’ adjudicataire sera la personne qui aura porté l’ enchère la plus élevée pourvu qu’elle soit égale ou supérieure au prix de réserve.

Le coup de marteau matérialisera la fin des enchères et le prononcé du mot « Adjugé » ou tout autre équivalent entraînera la formation du contrat de vente entre le vendeur et le dernier enchérisseur retenu.

En sus du montant de l’ adjudication, l’ acheteur devra acquitter par lot, les commissions (frais de vente) qui seront indiquées pour chaque vente. Le paiement du lot aura lieu au comptant, pour l’ intégralité du prix, des frais et des taxes.

Dès l’ adjudication prononcée, L’ adjudicataire devient propriétaire de son lot.

1. Sale catalogue

The lots are sold on a voluntary basis, by ROIS & VAUPRES ENCHERES, auction house located in Saint-Pair-sur-Mer and the SARL Military Classic Auction, located in Grandcamp-Maisy.

In accordance with the law, the information given in the catalogue is under the responsibility of the auction company and its experts, who guarantee the authenticity of the lots offered for sale, subject to the corrections announced at the time of the presentation of the object and recorded in the sales report. The attributions have been established considering the scientific knowledge at the date of the sale.

Potential buyers are invited to examine the items that may interest them before the auction at the Military Classic Center (Normandy - France). The Military Classic Auction team is available to provide information on the condition of the lots.

The descriptions of lots in the catalogue, reports, and verbal indications or announcements are only the expression of the perception of the lot by the Auction House and Military Classic Auction, but do not constitute proof of a fact.

Indications given on the existence of a restoration, an accident or an incident affecting the lot are expressed to facilitate its appreciation by the potential buyer and remain subject to his sole personal appreciation.

2. Conduct of the sale

The auctioneer will conduct the sale in a discretionary manner while respecting the established practices; she reserves the right to refuse any bid, to organize the bidding in the most appropriate manner, to move certain lots during the sale, to withdraw any lot from the sale, to combine or separate lots, to designate the successful bidder, to continue the sale or to cancel it, or to reoffer the lot for sale.

The successful bidder will be the person who has made the highest bid, provided it is equal to or higher than the reserve price.

• Annuler la vente de plein droit, Sans préjudice de dommages intérêts dus par l’ adjudicataire défaillant. En outre, l’ Hôtel des ventes se réserve de réclamer à l’ adjudicataire défaillant, à son choix : Des intérêts au taux légal majoré de cinq points, La facturation de frais de garde et de stockage, Le remboursement des coûts supplémentaires engendrés par sa défaillance, Le paiement de la différence entre le prix d’ adjudication initial et le prix d’ adjudication sur folle enchère s’il est inférieur, ainsi que les coûts générés par les nouvelles enchères.

Tout lot qui aura été laissé à l’Etude ou à Military Classic Center par un déposant et dont la vente n’ a pu être conclue (et ce qu’elle qu’ en soit la raison : absence d’ enchères, prix de réserve par trop élevé et absence d’ accord avec son propriétaire, etc.) devra être récupéré par son dépositaire dans le mois suivant la demande de l’ Hôtel des ventes ou sa date de passage en vente. Dans l’hypothèse où le lot ne serait pas récupéré dans les délais impartis il sera revendu pour le compte de l’ Hôtel des ventes.

3. Incidents de vente

Le plus offrant et dernier enchérisseur sera l’ adjudicataire.

En cas de contestation au moment des adjudications, c’est-à-dire s’il est établi que deux ou plusieurs enchérisseurs ont simultanément porté une enchère équivalente, soit à haute voix, soit par signe, soit par internet et réclament en même temps cet objet, après le prononcé du mot « adjugé », ledit objet sera immédiatement remis en vente au prix proposé par les enchérisseurs et tout le public présent sera admis à enchérir à nouveau.

4. Conditions de règlement

4.1 Clients résidant en France

La vente est faite expressément au comptant. Le prix d’adjudication et les frais acheteurs sont TTC. La vente est conduite en euros.

L’ adjudicataire paiera à l’ Hôtel des ventes, le prix principal de son enchère, augmenté des frais. Les frais diffèrent selon que la vente est judiciaire ou volontaire et que l’ acquisition est faite en salle ou par internet. Pour les lots volontaires, les frais sont de 24% TTC (20 % HT), quelle que soit la nature du lot.

Le paiement par carte bancaire par téléphone est possible.

Conformément à l’article L.321-14 du code du commerce, un bien adjugé ne peut être délivré à l’ acheteur que lorsque la société en a perçu le prix ou lorsque toute garantie lui a été donnée sur le paiement du prix par l’ acquéreur.

In the event of non-payment by the successful bidder, after formal notice has remained unfruitful, the Auction house may, at its discretion

If the lot is not recovered within the time allowed, it will be resold on behalf of the Auction house.

3. Incidents of sale

The highest and last bidder will be the successful bidder.

In the event of a dispute at the time of the auction, i.e. if it is established that two or more bidders have simultaneously made an equivalent bid, either aloud, by sign or by internet, and claim the item at the same time, after the word «adjugé» has been pronounced, the said item will be immediately reoffered for sale at the price proposed by the bidders, and all members of the public who are present will be allowed to bid again.

4. Terms of payment

4.1

Customers residing in France

The sale is expressly made in cash.

The auction price and the buyer’s expenses are inclusive of tax. The sale is conducted in euros.

The successful bidder will pay the main price of his bid, plus expenses, to the Hôtel des ventes. The costs differ according to whether the sale is judicial or voluntary and whether the acquisition is made in the auction room or by internet. For voluntary lots, the fees are 24% including VAT (20% excluding VAT), whatever the nature of the lot.

Payment by credit card over the telephone is possible.

In accordance with article L.321-14 of the French Commercial Code, an auctioned item can only be delivered to the buyer when the company has received the price or when any guarantee has been given on the payment of the price by the buyer.

> Par carte de crédit (sauf American Express) En cas de remise d’un chèque ordinaire, seul l’ encaissement du chèque vaudra règlement.

L’ Hôtel des ventes sera autorisé à reproduire sur le procès-verbal de vente et sur le bordereau d’ adjudication les renseignements fournis par l’adjudicataire. Toute fausse indication engagera la responsabilité de celui-ci, qui devra communiquer les renseignements nécessaires dès l’ adjudication du lot prononcée.

4.2. Clients non-résidents français

Les clients hors métropole devront s’acquitter de leur achat par règlement SWIFT avant toute délivrance de l’ objet.

En cas de paiement par chèque non certifié :

> Le lot adjugé ne pourra être délivré à l’ adjudicataire que lorsque le paiement effectif du bordereau aura été perçu par

l’ Hôtel des ventes.

> Deux pièces d’ identité valables lui seront demandées. Il est conseillé aux acheteurs d’obtenir de leur banque une lettre accréditive pour la valeur avoisinant le montant de leurs achats.

5. Ordres d’achat

L’ Hôtel des ventes se charge d’ exécuter gratuitement les ordres d’achat qui lui sont confiés, en particulier par les acquéreurs potentiels ne pouvant assister à la vente.

Les ordres d’achat doivent être impérativement formulés par écrit et accompagnés d’un relevé d’ identité bancaire, ainsi qu’une copie recto verso d’une pièce d’ identité.

Toute enchère confirmée vaut acceptation du prix et de la description des biens mis en vente, entraînant ainsi la formation d’un contrat de vente conclu à distance.

Les ordres d’ achat sont une facilité offerte à nos clients. L’ Hôtel des ventes ne peut être considéré comme responsable pour avoir manqué d’exécuter un ordre par erreur et ce quelle qu’en soit la cause origine.

Si l’ Hôtel des ventes reçoit plusieurs ordres d’ achat pour des montants d’ enchères identiques, c’est l’ ordre le plus ancien qui sera préféré.

6. Enchères par téléphone

Les enchères par téléphone sont possibles uniquement pour les lots dont l’ estimation est supérieure à 200€. Tout client souhaitant enchérir par téléphone doit en faire la demande par écrit au plus tard 24 heures avant la vente. Cet écrit devra être accompagné d’un relevé d’ identité bancaire et d’une copie de pièce d’ identité de l’ acquéreur potentiel.

L’ Hôtel des ventes décline toute responsabilité en cas de mauvais fonctionnement ou de non-obtention de la ligne téléphonique.

> Two valid pieces of identification will be requested.

Buyers are advised to obtain a letter of credit from their bank for the value of their purchases.

5. Purchase orders

The Auction house will execute, free of charge, the purchase orders entrusted to it, by potential buyers who cannot attend the sale.

The purchase orders must imperatively be formulated in writing and accompanied by a bank statement, as well as a copy of both sides of an identity document.

All confirmed bids are deemed to be of an acceptance of the price and description of the goods offered for sale, thus leading to the formation of a contract of sale concluded at a distance.

The purchase orders are to facilitate biddind to our customers. The Auction house cannot be considered as responsible for having failed to carry out an order by error and this whatever the cause.

If the Auction house receives several purchase orders for identical amounts of bids, the oldest order will be preferred.

6. Telephone bidding

Telephone bidding is only possible for lots with an estimate of more than 200€. Any customer wishing to bid by telephone must make a written request at least 24 hours before the sale. This written request must be accompanied by a bank statement and a copy of the potential buyer’s identity card.

8. Conditions de stockage

L’ enlèvement des lots devra être réalisé avant le samedi 5 juillet 2025 après règlement intégral.

9. Armement

Les armes proposées dans la vente aux enchères sont neutralisées ou en cours de neutralisation aux nouvelles normes européennes par le Banc d’Épreuve de Saint-Etienne (France) en 2024-2025, à la charge de l’acheteur. Les armes doivent être déclarées avec cerfa et certifi cat médical de moins de 1 mois ou licence tamponnée ou permis de chasser validé (art.R312-56), par l’acquéreur.

Aucune remise ou expédition de lots ne pourront être effectuées sans présentation des documents précités. Un délai de 3 mois est appliqué après la vente pour réceptionner les armes auprès du Banc d’Épreuve de SaintEtienne (France).

L’ acheteur reste responsable de son achat dès son adjudication et en règlera au minimum les frais afférant. Les coûts de neutralisation disponibles sur : http://www.banc-epreuve.fr/neutraliser-arme/ Les neutralisations sont effectuées selon le décret n°2013-700, les arrêtés du 02/09/2013 et 12/05/2006 et le règlement d’exécution (UE) 2015/2403 de la commission du 15/12/2015. Après la neutralisation, l’arme ne pourra plus tirer de munitions, elle sera classée en catégorie C9 comme arme de collection.

Il sera délivré un certifi cat de neutralisation.

Les acheteurs hors Union Européenne doivent se référer à la législation en vigueur de leur pays pour l’importation du/des lot(s) remporté(s) durant la vente aux enchères.

8. Storage conditions

Removal of lots must be completed by Saturday, July 5, 2025 after full payment.

Storage fees are offered until Saturday, July 5, 2025 inclusive.

Lots not picked up by buyers before July 5,2025 will be returned to secure storage at the buyer’s expense. Storage fees will be applied as follows : Parts & accessories 10€ HT / day and for vehicles 75€ HT / day.

Parts, accessories and militaria

The collection of the lots, after payment, can be done the same day : Saturday 7th June 2025.

9. Arms

The weapons offered in the auction are neutralized or in the process of being neutralized to the new European standards by the Proof House of Saint-Etienne (France) in 2024-2025 at the expense of the buyer. The weapons must be declared with cerfa and medical certificate of less than 1 month or stamped license or validated hunting license (art. R312-56), by the purchaser.

No delivery or shipment of lots can be made without presentation of the above mentioned documents. A period of 3 months after the sale is applied to receive the weapons from the Saint-Etienne Proof House (France). The buyer remains responsible for his purchase as soon as it is awarded and will pay at least the related costs. The neutralizations are carried out according to the decree n°2013-700, the decrees of 02/09/2013 and 12/05/2006 and the implementing regulation (EU) 2015/2403 of the commission of 15/12/2015.

After neutralization, the weapon will not be able to fire ammunition, it will be classified in category C9 as a collection weapon.

A certificate of neutralization will be issued.

Buyers outside the European Union must refer to the legislation in force in their country for the importation of the lot(s) won during the auction.
