1981 Entrepreneur Marvin Mielke starts Marvin W. Mielke, Inc. to sell computer hardware and services to the construction industry.
1984 Mary Anne Mielke, Terry’s wife and a special education schoolteacher, purchases 100% of the stock in Marvin W. Mielke, Inc. (later known as M.W. Mielke Inc., now MIELKE Mechanical) and begins operations as a merit shop mechanical contracting business.
Returning to Medina County, OH from WWII as a Bronze Star recipient, Marvin Mielke starts Mielke Plumbing & Heating after fixing a neighbor’s boiler in the dead of winter.
Terry Mielke returns home after serving in the U.S. Air Force and begins working in the business under his father, Marvin.
2000 Founder Marvin Mielke passes away at longtime client Medina General Hospital, still talking about company progress in his final hours. Driven by industrial client relationships, the company begins performing work outside Ohio, fueling growth and geographic expansion.
2001 Dave Mielke assumes the role of President from his mom, Mary Anne.
2005 Company joins an ABC peer group, significantly shaping its growth, values, and culture.
1997 With Terry & Mary Anne leading operations, Dave Mielke graduates from Kent State University and begins working in the business full-time as an estimator and project manager.
1998 Consolidating office operations from Terry and Mary Anne’s basement in Litchfield, OH, and the original shop in Valley City, OH, the company moves into its current 47,000 sq. ft. corporate offices and fabrication center in Medina, OH. The company begins teaching an in-house training and apprenticeship program in coordination with ABC, later accredited by NCCER, which becomes a cornerstone of key team members’ development.
1999 Scott Givens starts full-time as a pipefitting apprentice.

2007 A satellite office is established in North Carolina to serve Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company; later closing in early 2010 during the Great Recession.
2008 Tony Jansen joins as Senior Project Manager. The company’s guiding priorities are formally set: Safety, Customer & Employee Satisfaction, Profitability.
Apprentice Joe Werner wins the company’s first ABC National Craft Championship medal; apprentices go on to win many medals, including Gold.
2009 Company establishes its Vision Statement: “To be a nationally recognized leader in the mechanical & industrial construction field for exceptional customer service, strong partnerships with our employee team, and positive contributions to our community.”
Late 2009 Scott Givens becomes partner and first non-Mielke family shareholder.
2020 Wes Dearth joins as Vice President of Service, helping expand the service division.
2021 Long-time estimator Matt Burtzlaff receives the first shares under the new phantom stock program.
2023 The MIELKE Foundation’s “Casting for Kids” Charity Fishing Tournament surpasses $1M raised for charities supporting children in the foster care system.
2024 Executive team expands to include Wes Dearth, Dana Pope, Paul Bryan, alongside shareholders Dave Mielke, Scott Givens, and Tony Jansen.
2025 Tony Jansen leads the new Central Operations team, focused on VDC, prefabrication, and modularization for safer, higher-quality delivery. Phil Beuck joins as CFO, bringing extensive construction industry finance experience.
2011 After years of full-time Florida operations, long time key employee Deirdre Taylor and Dave Mielke relocate to establish a permanent Tampa, FL office.
2013 Paul Bryan joins the company, becoming the first candidate in the new CGAP (College Graduate Apprenticeship Program).
2014 To support growth, MIELKE Holdings, LLC is formed; MIELKE Mechanical and other operating companies become subsidiaries.
2015 Scott Givens is named President of MIELKE Mechanical, while Dave Mielke remains President of MIELKE Holdings.
2016 Tony Jansen, Vice President, becomes partner and shareholder. Company completes its largest project ever, Metropolitan at the 9 in downtown Cleveland, exceeding $16M, with 70+ team members working 24/7 for nearly a year.
2017 After years in Columbus, OH, MIELKE establishes a full-time local office. Dana Pope joins, and the MIELKE Foundation, a 501(c)(3), is established.
Today
MIELKE transitions to an employee-owned company, supporting growth, leadership expansion, and cultural values.

CEO, MIELKE Holdings
David Mielke, a third-generation construction leader, has served as President of MIELKE since 2001, guiding the strategic direction and operational success of the company. With 30+ years managing projects, budgeting, and bidding, he combines technical expertise with strong leadership. David has also held multiple board and committee roles with the Association of Builders and Contractors at both chapter and national levels, contributing to the advancement of industry standards and best practices. He is President of the MIELKE Foundation, and has served as Chairperson of the Board of Directors for The Heart Gallery of Tampa Bay and volunteers in the Guardian Ad Litem program.

President, MIELKE Mechanical
Scott Givens brings more than 20 years of experience in the mechanical contracting industry. After starting as an apprentice and several years managing field operations, he transitioned into office leadership, serving as Project Manager, Operations Manager, Vice President and now President. Scott holds an MBA from The Ohio State University and oversees sales and operations, driving performance and client satisfaction. He remains active in the industry as a member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of Northeast Ohio and has served on the Welding and HVAC Advisory Council for Polaris Career Center.


Vice President, Central Operations
Anthony Jansen joined MIELKE in 2008 as a Senior Project Manager, focusing on large HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection projects. He advanced to Vice President of Large Projects, managing high-profile assignments including The 9 in 2013, the largest single project of his career with a contract value exceeding $15 million. In 2014, Anthony assumed the role as Vice President of Finance and Business Administration for MIELKE Holdings, LLC, overseeing financial operations, accounting, legal matters, and human resources. Tony now leads MIELKE’s Central Operations Team, directing cross-functional efforts to drive efficiency and operational excellence.





Vice President, Ohio Operations
Paul Bryan leads MIELKE’s Ohio operations, bringing more than a decade of experience with the company. He began his career as an apprentice and progressed to Project Manager before taking leadership of the Columbus office and ultimately overseeing all Ohio operations. Paul holds an MBA from Kent State University, is a graduate of MIELKE’s College Graduate Apprenticeship Program, and earned first place in ABC’s National Craft Championship. With a unique combination of hands-on trade expertise and executive leadership, Paul effectively bridges field operations with business strategy, delivering exceptional results across the organization.
Vice President of Service
Wes Dearth has served as Vice President of MIELKE Service since 2020, bringing more than 25 years of experience in the mechanical service industry. In this role, he oversees the growth, performance, and profitability of the Service Division. Under Wes’ leadership, the division has experienced significant growth and continues to expand year over year. This momentum is fueled by a focus on building strong client relationships, developing highly skilled service teams, and implementing innovative solutions that extend equipment life and improve system efficiency.
Chief Financial Officer
Philip recently joined MIELKE as Chief Financial Officer, bringing more than 29 years of experience in financial leadership at AECOM. Throughout his career, he has led organizational transformation, improved cash flow, streamlined processes, and managed risk to strengthen performance. Recognized as a change agent, he leverages financial expertise, operational insight, and process improvement skills to drive efficiency and profitability.
Vice President, HR & Communications
Dana Pope serves as Vice President of Human Resources and Communications for MIELKE, where she leads companywide HR strategy, employee engagement, and internal and external communications. Dana brings more than 25 years of experience spanning human resources, communications, marketing, and operations. At MIELKE, she is focused on aligning people, culture, and communications to support growth, strengthen teams, and enhance the employee experience.

MIELKE was shortlisted to provide design development budgeting for Moffitt’s new 10-story, 500,000 SF inpatient hospital. We quickly deployed BIM technicians to model systems, coordinate sleeves and embeds, and support budgeting. After meeting key deliverables and establishing pricing, we were awarded the full plumbing and medical gas scopes.

PURAGLOBE, based in Germany, expanded to the U.S. with a new Port Tampa Bay facility, converting an unfinished, abandoned eight-year-old site into a fully operational plant for sustainable base oil. MIELKE applied innovative methods and strict quality control to revitalize the project and meet the firm deadline for an European base oil transfer.

Contract
MIELKE delivered a 3-story office addition and multi-phase renovations across an occupied corporate headquarters. Work included full mechanical upgrades, HVAC replacement, and major equipment installations, completed over 2½ years with minimal disruption, ensuring continuous operations and effective coordination among multiple trades.

• Custom air handling units, chilled/hot water pumping, and condenser water system replacement
• Phased renovations while maintaining full facility operations
• Multi-trade coordination and noise control in occupied spaces

This project renovated a 29-story tower, historic rotunda, and 13-story building, featuring residential apartments, luxury sky suites, a Marriott Signature Collection hotel, and multiple restaurants. MIELKE delivered plumbing and HVAC systems, including the installation of one of the nation’s few high-efficiency steam turbines, supporting modern performance within a historic setting.

MIELKE is providing HVAC and plumbing systems for the new 72,756 SF OVDL, Ohio’s only AAVLD-accredited, USDA Level 1 laboratory. The project replaces the 1961 facility and supports advanced diagnostic testing, emergency disease response, and high-performance laboratory operations while ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with federal standards.

COLUMBUS, OH - OSU Controlled Environment Agricultural Research & Production Facility (Greenhouse). Contract Value: $4.4M+
MIELKE supported the design and construction of a cutting-edge greenhouse for OSU’s agricultural research department. Specialized systems included deionized water, rainwater harvesting, and mist generators. Early design-assist collaboration and coordination modeling optimized schedule, resources, and constructibility, delivering a high-performance research facility.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit funded by a portion of our company’s annual profits, the Foundation invests directly back into people. Our signature event, the Casting for Kids Fishing Tournament in Tampa Bay, has raised more than $1.2 million, with 100% of proceeds making an impact through:
