Davenport University Meets the Needs of Urban School Districts
Davenport University’s College of Urban Education (CUE) is hosting a teacher and principal certification open house on March 5th at their Detroit campus located at the New Center One Building, 3031 Detroit, MI 48202. Those attending will learn about the CUE teacher alternative route certification program and the Michigan Elementary and Middle School Principals Association (MEMSPA) principal alternative route certification programs. CUE faculty and Davenport University representatives will be available to answer questions about these programs and available tuition assistance opportunities. Susan Gunn, Ph, D., Professor and Dean at the College of Urban Education, Davenport University says “At Davenport, we meet the needs of Urban School Districts, one educator at a time.” The Dean added, “Our programs are designed to provide leading edge, researchbased strategies that support development of highly effective teaching and leadership practices. Through a combination of academic coursework, mentorship and coaching, program graduates become dynamic, culturally responsive teachers and leaders that positively impact the lives of their students .Interested persons are invited to join us March 5th to learn more about our teacher and administrator certification programs and explore how you can make a difference in Urban Education.” This open house is designed for those interested in becoming teachers and school administrators. Attendants will learn how to gain the certifications needed to teach, lead, and make a difference in education.
