VOLUME

stands for the outcasts. the freaks. the losers. the queers. the punks. the people.

Volume never will stand for racism, sexism, queerphobia, transphobia, ableism, hatred or bigotry of any kind. -

Volume was created on Wurundjeri land. We are living on stolen land. I would like to pay my respect to its true owners and their elders - past present and emerging. Sovereignty was never ceded and treaties have never been signed.

the shit I say in this zine are all just things I've researched and so may not be 100% accurate, so always make sure to do your research before you come to a decision!

Volume was created by Mikey!

I don't know how this would ever come into the possession of anyone who doesn't know me but if somehow you don't, I'm a silly little queer and neurodivergent fool.

I did it for you: how often should I get Sti tested?

Let's be real, if you're reading this you're probably a hot bitch who's getting some action. So, how often should said hot bitch get STI checked?

Basically, if you're not doing the nasty a heap, it's recommended to get checked once a year if you're avoiding it like the plague. Generally, once every six months or if you suspect you may have an STI is ideal.

On the other hand, if you're into having casual sex, once every three months is recommended.

Either way, don't forget to communicate with your partner/s about STIs and always use condoms!

On the cover: Amy taylor

I thought her name was Amyl. Turns out it's actually a depressant. Her name is Amy and she's from Amyl and the Sniffers. Fuckin mint band. Go listen.

Fuck capitalism: how to say no to fast fashion

The world is a fucking nightmare. From workers being paid cents for an entire garment, to poor quality to overpriced brand names who greenwash: what can you do to say no to fast fashion?

First of all, this does not apply to everyone. Some people are unable to fit into thrifted clothes, or simply don't make enough to afford ethically made clothing. It is no one's job to police others on their choices.

However, if you're in a place where you can spend the extra energy on making ethical purchases, here is what I suggest!

First of all, you can check if a brand is ethical by using goodonyou.eco, or even a simple google search will do the trick.

Secondly, thrifting or buying second-hand on apps like Depop help stop the creation of unnecessary clothing.

Song recommendation!
