VOL. 2 ISSUE 1

CEO'S MESSAGE Hello Team MHMC, Let me start by saying: You are an incredible Team! The start of 2022 was ushered in with a surge in COVID-19 cases and of course MHMC has had to PHOTO BY MARTIN R. SMITH

tighten its processes, procedures, and protocols, as well as adjust services all in an effort to manage our space to ensure that we are providing the safest working environment for each of us and safe care to our patients and clients. As we can see, we are not necessarily out of the red zone and so our efforts as a team to manage the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic is even more so paramount. Let me thank you for the work that you have been putting in day in and day out to improve our service delivery. I know that there are challenges encircling our operations, however, I am more so confident that we have the capacity and intelligence to develop solutions to remedy each of these and will showcase this even more in the days, weeks and months to come. I want to encourage each HoD, Manager, and Supervisor to put great focus on coaching and feedback, and to increase your one-on-one time with your team members. As we go through this period of uncertainty and our team members grapple with the challenges of the pandemic outside of our walls in addition to operational challenges it becomes a necessity to have checkins with our teams to ensure their overall wellbeing. I also want to encourage each team member to work with your leaders as we work with you to create a safe space that caters to you

Share your feedback with us and let’s keep the communication loop open and smooth. Ultimately, let's stay the course in making MHMC #1 in Health Care. Enjoy the read and ensure you let us know if we are keeping your attention. In the meantime, until the next edition, remember to follow the protocols to keep yourself, family, friends and colleagues safe: 1. HANDS Wash your hands often or sanitize when washing is not possible 2. FACE

Wear your mask and wear it properly,

avoid touching your face 3. FEET

Social distance, stay more than 6 feet

apart, avoid gatherings. Remember: Prevention starts with you; we should all play our part in the fight against COVID-19.

Jermon has proven to be a valuable asset for the network team, and is very service oriented, industrious and ambitious. Next time you use your ID badge, remember Jermon created the design. And when sending emails or using Office 365, he probably set up your account too. He is cool and calm and always dependable. While Anoushka is the newest member of the helpdesk team. STAFF FEATURE The IT Department is the feature for this issue! In this department, we have ten employees led by the Brian Evans, Deputy Manager Information Technology. The department’s vision is to provide, maintain and support information technology infrastructure and services which contribute meaningfully towards high quality patient care and end user experiences. There are three main teams within the department, namely systems, networking, and helpdesk. The systems team is responsible for ensuring all information systems are active, maintained, and available to our end users when needed. The network team comprises technicians and a network engineer. They ensure that all users have access to our internal systems and internet. The helpdesk is on the frontline of our support efforts, they manage our inventory, and work closely with the network and systems teams to coordinate responses to various requests for support. In this edition, we feature two of our team members, Mr. Jermon Ephraim and Ms. Anoushka Bruce. Jermon is one of our multi-talented technicians who does a little of everything quite well. He has experience in server administration, networking, PC repair and troubleshooting, desktop publishing and end user training.
