In this edition: - Department Feature - Employee Status Changes - Service Interruption & Changes - MHMC Monthly News - Hot Policy of the Month - What's Coming... Mc Carson Bledman Deputy Manager - Employee Engagement Reward & Recognition / Editor Hello Team MHMC, November has been a very eventful month and we hope that with our focus on Staff Safety that all our employees feel safe and understand their role in occupational health & safety. I continue to be encouraged by the many employees who, despite the challenges of the transition, remain steadfast to the cause. A heartfelt "THANK YOU" to all of you. We have made great progress as a complex in a short space of time, and we understand that there are many more levels to undertake. We are confident that with you, the men and women that make MHMC what it is, we will achieve great success! We are now approaching the holiday season and so we encourage each of you to turn your attention to and indulge in the spirit of giving, peace, love, and hope. Let's come together as a collective, and within our individual departments and celebrate each other. Look back at the past year and focus your attention on all the opportunities and blessings that you have received personally and professionally. Ultimately, let's look to the future and set our eyes on the areas for improvement in our lives and continue to work towards making MHMC #1 in Health Care. Together we can achieve more, and that I know we will do once we believe it and act on it! Enjoy the read and ensure you let us know if we are keeping your attention. DEPARTMENT FEATURE

Azelia Glace-George

The Dietary Department is one of the required patient care/support services, which play a vital role in a patient's treatment plan. We ensure that patients consume the appropriate foods to assist with recovery from illness and ensure that length of stay at the hospital is decreased. We also ensure that nutritious meals are provided to the public.

Our Department is led by Mrs. Azelia Glace-George, who is passionate about Team, Efficiency, Education and Advancement and always welcomes the opportunity to assist staff members and to tech interns and volunteers. The department is divided into two divisions, namely dietetics and food services. Our Food Service Division is responsible for providing costeffective, nutritious, high-quality meals to patients and the public, that are freshly prepared and delivered daily.

Our Dietetics division is responsible for coordinating with the Multiple Disciplinary Team (MDT) to ensure that hospital inpatients and out-patients receive the proper prescribed normal or therapeutic diets as per their diagnosis and the requisite nutrition education and counseling needed. Trained Nutrition professionals - Dietitians and Dietetic Technicians, administer evidenced-based nutritional care, with a patient centered focus, considering physiological, psychological, cultural, social and economic factors, to ensure the patients nutritional needs are adequately met. The Department operates by the slogan: Food & Nutrition is our PASSION, You are our FOCUS, Excellence is our GOAL!
