Aspiring young artists to present public art, Hagley Park
his year SCAPE Public Art, supported by Lewis Bradford Consulting Engineers, invites aspiring young artists and designers (under the age of 18) to have their artwork produced for public space. SCAPE Public Art is offering an open call for young aspiring artists (junior and senior students) to respond to a brief and provide designs to create unique public artworks within Hagley Park. Re:ACTIVATE Kids and Re:ACTIVATE Teen Public Art Exhibition is open to all for entry now until 7 July 2017. Submitted designs will be shortlisted to 20 for exhibition and one design in each category will be produced for SCAPE’s six-week season with the support and sponsorship of Lewis Bradford Consulting Engineers. Design proposals should be forwarded to: Josie Whelan, Community and Education Manager, SCAPE Public Art, PO Box 763, Christchurch 8140, or josie@scapepublicart.org.nz. Notification of selected designs for production will occur by 17 – 14 July 2017.

Short-film Trees has a narrative embodying the story of a young woman with a shameful secret who hides out from friends and family in a massive tree.
