o how did a man who sold electrical goods become a real entrepreneur in spray tanning, owning salons in Christchurch, Auckland and on the Gold Coast and with plans to open salons in the United States? “It was a combination of sheer accident and of serendipity. My wife Diana used to spray tan from home and was convinced we could make a business from it. A tiny shop with a very small rent became available in Ilam and we took the plunge. From 10 -15 tans a week to begin, we then just grew and grew. Currently in our two Christchurch salons we provide over 600 tans a week. That means 14 tans every hour we are open.” Matt and Diana certainly tapped into a gap in the market. Once reserved only for special occasions, SKT salons have changed the face of tanning offering high quality spray tanning at fantastic prises. “Right now we're into school formal season and are fully booked with 15 – 18 year olds who want that “sun kissed” look to show off their beautiful dresses to best effect. Our prices make spray tanning really accessible to these young women.” Matt adds that SKT are the official provider of spray tanning to Dancing with the Stars “which cements our claim
