MASTER OF SCIENCE IN NUTRITION AND HUMAN PERFORMANCE The innovative Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance at Merrimack College will prepare you to become a competent, entry-level Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) capable of implementing safe, effective, evidence-based care. You will graduate prepared to take the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) credentialing exam. Our program is one of the first demonstration programs in New England and one of the few in the country that offers a focus on human performance and sport nutrition.

Merrimack’s M.S. in Nutrition and Human Performance coursework was designed for students to be able to achieve the standards and competencies outlined by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) Future Education Model (FEM). You’ll learn how to synthesize, critically evaluate, and apply evidence-based nutrition knowledge and skills to effectively address contemporary nutrition-related issues. CAREER OPPORTUNITIES
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, the median annual wage as of 2019 for Registered Dietitians and Nutritionists in Massachusetts was $72,610. Jobs in Dietetics and Nutrition are forecast to grow by 11 percent between the years of 2018 and 2028, faster than the average job growth for all occupations. • $984 per credit hour* • The Master of Science in Nutrition and Human Performance is 66 credit hours ($64,944) Applicants are eligible for the Dean Scholarship, which is awarded based on merit and need. This generous scholarship, in addition to our already low tuition, can help you save significantly on tuition costs. This program is also eligible for the Double Warrior Scholarship, which grants Merrimack alumni an automatic savings of at least 25% on graduate tuition. *2021–2022 tuition. Rates subject to change
ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• Applicants must have earned a bachelor’s degree with a 3.0 overall GPA. • Applicants must have completed and earned a grade of B or better in the required prerequisite courses before beginning the program in the fall: − Chemistry I & II − Exercise Physiology − Human Anatomy − Human Physiology − Introduction to Nutrition − Microbiology − Statistics − Organic Chemistry I − Organic chemistry II strongly recommended − Biochemistry - strongly recommended DEGREE REQUIREMENTS
To graduate students must complete a minimum of 66 credits of coursework. Integrated across the curriculum will be 1,000 hours of supervised experiential learning in professional work settings with additional alternative experiential learning experiences embedded into specific courses. Students will ordinarily complete the graduate program within two years.
