TAILORED FOR YOU Convenient, accessible, and high quality, the Certificate in Catholic School Leadership is an online, three-course, 12-credit graduate level certificate. Students are admitted twice a year (fall and spring) and have the option to take only one or two courses to acquire specific skillsets (i.e., CFOs may opt to take only the Financial Leadership course). DEGREE REQUIREMENTS

The Certificate in Catholic School Leadership requires successful completion of three four-credit courses for a total of 12 credits. These eight-week online modules are: • ED 6305G Fundamentals of a Faith-based Education • ED 6307G Financial Leadership • ED 6308G Educational Leadership and Managerial Strategies ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS

To apply, you must have completed a bachelor’s degree and submit: • An online application • Current resume • All transcripts from previous studies Student should already be in a professional leadership role when enrolling in the certificate program. Applicants whose first language is not English will be asked to provide proof of English proficiency (e.g., TOEFL or IELTS results in accordance with Merrimack’s policy).

COURSE DESCRIPTIONS

ED 6305G Fundamentals of a Faithbased Education: Using documents from Vatican Council II and Post-Conciliar works, emphasis is placed on the importance of school leaders to promote faith-formation by operationalizing the charism and mission of their faith-based school, and to employ methodologies to market it. ED 6307G Financial Leadership: This course provides insights into budgeting and its interconnectedness to student enrollment, tuition, income, the parish budget, scholarships, capital improvements, strategic planning, fundraising, and working with Boards. ED 6308G Educational Leadership and Managerial Strategies: This course is designed to provide school administrators with leadership and managerial skills to strategically create high performing teams and organizations within their school, and to employ social media for ongoing professional development.
