GRADUATE AMBASSADOR

The Merrimack College Graduate Ambassadors work alongside the Office of Graduate Admission and are a select group of students dedicated to the positive promotion of the College. Graduate Ambassadors will have a profile on the Merrimack College website which allows prospective students to reach out with questions about our graduate programs, Merrimack’s campus, and other concerns. Graduate Ambassadors will attend graduate events and will earn valuable admission and student life experience to add to their professional resume This is a volunteer position

Responsibilities and Requirements

Correspond with prospective and admitted students through various forms of communication (emails, phone calls, written letters and in-person interactions)

Positively represent the Office of Graduate Admission during events, campus tours, and throughout their time as a student

Ensure the accuracy of information being put forth on behalf of the college

Adhere and abide by all of the guidelines put forth by the Office of Graduate Admissions, including but not limited to: dress code, punctuality, attendance, and professionalism

High level of commitment and the ability to be flexible outside of normal business hours Assist with the Merrimack College Graduate Podcast

Attend all monthly meetings during the semester and all training sessions

Minimum semester and cumulative GPA requirement = 3.0

Qualifications

Current on-ground graduate student at Merrimack College

Committed to the program until the end of the academic year

Enthusiastic and positive attitude

Strong work ethic to perform assigned tasks

Ability to communicate with diverse populations

Willingness to develop and improve public speaking skills

Dynamic interpersonal skills

Passion to share your positive personal experiences as a Merrimack student with prospective students and families

Anticipated Hours Benefits

2-3 hours weekly

Gain a greater understanding of Merrimack College, and firsthand experience in the Office of Graduate Admissions

Sharpen communication and public speaking skills, improve interpersonal and conversational skills, gain professional development

Enhance confidence when speaking and interacting with the Merrimack community and prospective students
