How to Survive Finals Week

HOW MERRILL STUDENTS SURVIVE FINALS!

STUDY NOW! Sleep instead of Allnighters

Start early!

Studying earlier rather than later helps you avoid the stress of last-minute cramming, which can often lead to feeling overwhelmed and underprepared

You will also have more time to retain the information and not cram for all of your classes until the last minute

Your brain does wonders while you sleep!

Choosing sleep over pulling an all-nighter to study is crucial for your cognitive functions and overall health. Sleep helps consolidate memory, making it easier to recall information during exams. Lack of sleep can impair your ability to concentrate and think critically, reducing the effectiveness of your study sessions.

Take Breaks

Balance! Balance!

Taking breaks during study sessions is essential for maintaining mental sharpness and preventing burnout. Regular breaks help refresh your mind, improving focus and increasing productivity when you return to studying.

Use your resources for the course

Did you read your syllabus?

Make sure you take advantage of the tutoring and final reviews that your TAs and/or professors may be hosting!

LSS is another resource that can help you answer questions that arise while you are studying! Here is the link to find out more about LSS: lssucscedu/programs/index html
