OUR TAKE ON THE MARKET We hope that you enjoy our 3rd Quarter Market Report in which we compare real estate sales activity in the three quarters of the current year to that of last year. January, February, March and the first few weeks of April comprise the majority of the very active Winter Season. June, July, August and September comprise the months of our bustling Summer Season. The Summer Season is our busiest selling season in Big Sky, which is surprising to many people! While the first two quarters of 2016 were a bit behind those of 2015, the third quarter was busy enough to surpass 2015 by a considerable amount. Total closed sales in the first three quarters are up from 215 in 2015 to 225 in 2016. Total sales volume is up $40,000,000+ from 2015 to 2016, and both average sales price and median sales price are up in 2016 over 2015. Home sales and condominium sales are both up in 2016, while land sales are down 40% over land sales in the first three quarters of 2015. We are very optimistic that the Big Sky market overall will continue to appreciate through the winter, especially amongst homes and condominiums. The enthusiasm about Big Sky Resort’s 2025 Plan, our two new high-speed chairlifts, and the release of some highly-anticipated new development projects throughout Big Sky have added to the excitement in our community as we await the winter season!
