ien lejos de la inmigración europea, en Salta todavía hay vestigios de la cultura originaria. La cultura de los habitantes es, sin dudas, uno de los atractivos más definitorios. Desde tiempos prehispánicos, ellos lograron adaptarse a las duras condiciones climáticas. Localidades como San Antonio de los Cobres conservan costumbres ancestrales que se reflejan en manifestaciones culturales como la Pachamama, los misachicos y la apacheta, entre otras. Los laboriosos artesanos se caracterizan por los tejidos realizados con agujas de espinas de cardón y peines de hueso, con diseños andinos, hechos de lana pura de llamas y ovejas. Además, cabe destacar que la Puna tiene diversos destinos por recorrer, imposibles de conocerlos todos en un día. El recorrido se puede realizar en vehículos especiales o en combis desde Salta capital, transitando la ruta nacional 51, paralela a las vías del ferrocarril. Se recorre Campo Quijano, Río Blanco, Quebrada del Toro, El Alisal, la ciudad prehispánica de Santa Rosa de Tastil, hasta San Antonio de los Cobres a 3775 s.n.m. Son 390 kilómetros de un paisaje inigualable.

a fauna de Península Valdés canta bingo entre septiembre y diciembre, contando con la presencia de las famosísimas ballenas hasta millones de pingüinos. Parece que toda la fauna marina se hubiera puesto de acuerdo para coincidir allí en este momento del año. Cada temporada de ballenas se prolonga más y más, y antes de que vuelvan a dejarnos solos para retirarse al sur a fines de diciembre, millones de pingüinos de Magallanes llegan desde el norte en septiembre. Al mismo tiempo, las colonias de lobos y elefantes marinos suman integrantes, mientras las toninas realizan sus piruetas alrededor de las lanchas, y finalmente son las orcas las que comienzan a arribar. De esta manera, se evidencia por qué la región fue declarada Patrimonio Natural de la Humanidad en 1999 por la UNESCO.
Punta Tombo Esta Área Natural Protegida es la mayor reserva continental de Pingüinos de Magallanes. Las pasarelas permiten avanzar por el lugar sin molestar a las familias de pinguinos que cuidan sus nidos, dan de comer a sus pequeños, o los acompañan al mar. Además, acá se pueden ver gaviotas cocineras grises o australes, skúas, patos vapor, cormoranes reales y de cuello negro, palomas antárticas y petreles gigantes. La temporada donde se avistan los pingüinos comprende los meses desde Septiembre a Marzo.
Reinas de Valdés A unos 50 kilómetros de Puerto Madryn el Área Natural Protegida Península Valdés se abre paso en el mar entre los golfos Nuevo y San José, y queda unida al continente por el istmo Carlos Ameghino. Con una superficie de 3625 kilómetros cuadrados y una franja protegida de tres millas marinas a su alrededor, Península Valdés recibe la mayor población reproductora de ballenas francas australes, con más de 2000 catalogadas por el Whale Conservation Institute y Ocean Alliance. El lugar cuenta con un sendero donde se podrá observar e interpretar la flora típica de la región. Cabe aclarar que esta reserva puede ser visitada durante todo el año teniendo en cuenta los horarios de bajamar.
