Affordable Tributes has a simple mission – to make cremations & funerals more affordable here in Central Connecticut. For nearly 20 years, founders Glenn & Tiffany Blumenstein have been driven by their commitment to helping people in their time of need. This means providing the memorial that your loved one deserves, through an online option that is simple, thoughtful, and affordable. Glenn & Tiffany share a common belief that what they do is a calling, and not a job. Prices are effective September 1st, 2022 and are subject to change without notice. The goods and services shown here are those we can provide to our customers. You may choose only the items you desire. However, any funeral arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy any items you did not specifically ask for, we will explain the reason, in writing, in our statement document which describes the funeral goods and services you selected. Our charge includes; staff and equipment to respond to request for services, coordinating service plans with cemetery, crematory, and/or other parties involved in the final disposition of the deceased; securing official documents and necessary registrations; and sheltering of the deceased for 48 hrs. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burial, and forwarding or receiving remains.) Pricing is only valid for online arrangements made through our website at affordabletributes.com. If an inperson arrangement conference is requested, one will be provided at an additional cost.
This charge includes staff and facilities to meet at our funeral home for in person planning and merchandise selection. This fee will be added to the cost of any arrangements not completed on line. If for any reason online arrangements are not legally possible this fee will be waived.
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. We recommend you choose em balming for services such as a funeral with a viewing.
Green embalming is that which is done with formaldehyde-free embalming fluids, made of nontoxic and biodegradable ingredients and essential oils.

Includes the removal of deceased from place of death by a licensed funeral professional. Addi tional charges will apply when death occurs in a home or outside of an institution. This charge is included in our Alternative Services selections.

Our charge includes: basic services of funeral director and staff, removal of remains, preparations of remains (including embalming), local transportation, shipping casket and a $5.90 cash advance for a burial and transit permit. This charge does not include international shipping arrangements, viewing, air transportation, or funeral service. Pricing is only valid for online arrangements made through our website at affordabletributes.com. If an in-person arrangement conference is requested, one will be provided at an additional cost.
Our charge includes: basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, care of Remains, transportation of remains to funeral home and to the cemetery or crematory. If an in-person arrangement conference is requested, one will be provided at an additional cost.
Our charge for a direct cremation (without ceremony) includes: basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, removal of remains, essential care of the deceased when not embalmed, fiberboard cremation container, transportation to crematory, and required cash advances. Pricing is only valid for online arrangements made through our website at affordabletributes.com. If an in-person arrangement conference is requested, one will be provided at an additional cost. (Upon purchaser request, a loved one will be made available to view for a short farewell and identification of remains.)
If you want to arrange a direct cremation, you can use an alternative container. Alternative containers encase the body and can be made of materials like fiberboard or composition materials (with or without an outside covering). Our charge for an immediate burial without a service includes: basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, removal of remains from home or institution, 20 gauge non-gasketed steel casket, concrete grave liner, essential care of the deceased when not embalmed for up to three days, required cash advance for a burial transit permit, and local transportation to cemetery in a service van. Not included is the cost of opening and closing of the grave (varies by cemetery), and the purchase of a cemetery plot if needed. Pricing is only valid for online arrangements made through our website at affordabletributes.com. If an in-person arrangement conference is requested, one will be provided at an additional cost.
(Upon purchaser request, a loved one will be made available to view for a short farewell and identification of remains).

We understand that losing someone you love is an emotional and life-changing experience. Consideration of any financial ramifications is very difficult. We hope to help you plan a tribute in a way that is both meaningful to you and your family and also honors the life of your loved one.
We request payment in full the day prior to planned services. If for any reason a balance remains due you will be billed at your home within 14 days. The balance will be due in 30 days. If you are unable to pay the balance in that time, late payment and interest charges will be applied.

3. Insur ance Policy with the beneficiary’s consent. The policy can be used as payment for the funeral expenses. Insurance assignment is acceptable if the following criteria are met:
• The policy is verified by us and all documentation is signed preceding the funeral.
• The policy is as signable and payable directly to the funeral home.
• The policy must be non-contestable (if in the contestable period, the policy will not be accepted as a form of payment).

4 In some c ases, the deceased’s estate must pay for funeral expenses. In these i nstances we request that a family member take the financial responsibility for funeral e xpenses and then file for reimbursement with the estate.
