what’s NEW Can you hear my VOICE? Can you believe it? Facebook has added a new feature again! This one is called “Voice.” This feature allows you to interact with your business page as yourself -- using your real name. For example, have you ever noticed that you posted an update on your business page and then without even realizing it you liked it as, for example, “Big Red Printing,” instead of yourself? The new voice feature will help you eliminate this mistake. Learn more about the Voice feature by watching this quick You Tube video. http://youtu.be/lEIzQnDXtz8
This article was published in our first issue of Social Marketing Talk, but I wanted to reprint it because since then our audience has grown significantly!
“Just a Fad or the Next Big Social Networking Site?” Have you heard the buzz about the latest social networking application, Pinterest? Do you know what Pinterest is? Pinterest is a tool for people to organize and share images online. It is basically an online scrapbook of all of your favorite things on the internet, these images are then known as Pins. Users can place their Pins on their own boards and they can label boards with specific themes if desired, such as: wish list, wedding, home decorating, recipes, etc. Why is the buzz of Pinterest spreading so fast? Pinterest connects users based on shared tastes and interest. Users can browse pinboards created by others, which provides a means for connecting and sharing. This is word of mouth marketing at its best. Currently Pinterest is still an invite only site. While you are not allowed to blatantly promote your business, many businesses are finding creative ways to promote their businesses though the use of Pinterest. Some companies are finding it beneficial to post promotions on their boards as well as portfolios of their work. For other creative ideas, check out Whole Foods (http://pinterest.com/wholefoods/) pin boards for a real world example of a business effectively using Pinterest to market their business.
The HubSpot Blog http://blog.hubspot.com/ HubSpot is where it’s at. Next to Mashable, HubSpot has one of the best blogs out there. They always seem to hit on timely topics and their blog posts/articles are overloaded with valuable information. In addition to their blog, HubSpot also has a lot of other great resources and offerings. Check it out for yourself!
