Brock and Molly Huard Brock and Molly are co-chairing Field of Dreams for the first time this year. They have been supporters of Medical Teams since they attended Field of Dreams in 2010. Brock and Molly are both former Husky athletes and are involved with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Pro Athletes Outreach, and other local ministries. Brock, a former quarterback for the Seattle Seahawks, is the co-host of the Brock and Salk show (710 ESPN Seattle) and an analyst for ESPN College Football as well as Seahawk broadcasts.
H.S. Wright III (Howard Wright) and Kate Janeway As second-year chairs of Field of Dreams, Howard and Kate have been proud supporters of Medical Teams International since 2009. Howard Wright is the founder and Chair of Seattle Hospitality Group. Kate Janeway is a leadership coach and an attorney and chairs the board of the Washington chapter of the Nature Conservancy. They reside in Seattle, Washington with their son.

Medical Teams President and CEO Martha Newsome has spent the last 30 years addressing international health needs through various roles, including leading World Vision International’s Global Sustainable Health efforts. She has served as the Africa HIV & AIDS Director as well as the Health Director and National Director for World Vision Mozambique. She also helped design World Vision’s Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition strategy. With a Master of Public Health from Johns Hopkins University, Martha has dedicated her life to serving the health needs of others.
In 2016, your gifts helped provide desperately needed healthcare for 2.9 million people in 27 countries. During the same year, the United Nations refugee agency reported that the number of displaced persons has, for the first time, exceeded the number after World War II— more than 65 million people worldwide are without a home, without healthcare and all too often, without hope. In Uganda alone, Medical Teams International has conducted more than 400,000 health screenings at entry points for the South Sudanese refugees that have flooded into the country since July 2016. We provide ongoing healthcare at clinics for 700,000+ refugees from 12 countries who make Uganda their temporary home. Tonight, you’ll see the life-changing impact your generosity makes. The needs around us are immense, but because we work together, and with God’s continued blessing on our efforts, we will continue to bring relief and lasting health to those who are marginalized and suffering. “FOCUS” Mixed Media on Birch Panel 40” x 36” After violence erupted in South Sudan last summer, thousands of new refugees began fleeing across the border into Uganda. This woman and her infant escaped violence back home for the relative peace of Nyumanzi, a border town in northern Uganda. For this brave mother and her baby, there’s tremendous uncertainty. Malaria and malnutrition are prevalent at the refugee settlements and are the leading causes of illness and death. “FOCUS” portrays the strength and dedication needed by a mother who is trying to provide safety for her child while living in an incredibly dangerous environment. Taken from a photograph by Medical Teams very own staff, Dan Ward, Christine Warjone sketched the image on canvas then used brushes, a pallet knife and her fingers as her means to achieve the various textures. Once completed, she attached the canvas to a birch panel and added three layers of high gloss resin, carefully sanding each dried and cured layer between each resin pour. Guided Fishing Trip for Three (3) on Washington’s Lower Quinault River Where the BIG Steelhead Live This is a special trip for three people to fish on the Lower Quinault River with tribal guide Rich Underwood on his 20’ Wooldridge Alaskan XL Jet boat. Rich started guiding back in 1984 and has perfected his art over the last 30+ years. His main mode of transportation for his clients is a 20-ft Wooldridge sled with a 150 Evinrude E-Tec engine. Rich will provide Lamiglas fishing rods with all of his favorite fishing applications. Lunch is provided as well. Currently, Rich is the only tribal fly fishing guide, catering exclusively to the two hand (spey) fishermen on the Quinault River. The Quinault is located in the heart of the Olympic Peninsula, managed by the Quinault Nation, with access permitted only with a tribal guide, so you are guaranteed a special adventure. If you would like to enjoy the pure natural setting with the only crowds being a herd of elk, or an occasional deer or Chitwhin (bear), this experience is for you! For best chance to hook into one of those “once in a lifetime” big Quinault Steelhead, make sure to call Rich early and shoot for a January or February booking! Good for a mutually agreeable date. After your shipments are ready, gather for lunch and enjoy an opportunity to walk-through the Real Life Exhibit. Then follow the blog posts to follow shipments to the teams and watch the impact unfold. Fun for children and adults alike, this is a special opportunity gather your group, give, and make an impact while sharing your passion for Medical Teams with others.
