The Ethnic Women’s Network (WEN) is a part of the ECCQ organisation which
comprises of women who are entrepreneurs, professionals, academics, and those who are interested in getting together to have chats about professional work, mental health, or just socialisation. This advocacy group WEN organises regular meetings with their members and often calls mentors and experts in various fields to discuss and address priorities and challenges relevant to improving the equity and advancement of culturally diverse women. Last year the WEN group organised the International Women’s day breakfast along with ECCQ staff. This year volunteers and
members of WEN along with ECCQ staff are organising the event. This is a moment where the group recognises the migrant women who have come a long way to reach Brisbane to make it their home. The focus for the WEN group for this year is to create awareness and programs, workshops, forums, and training around violence against women paving a path to make the larger community aware of the impacts of violence against women. If you are interested in this group please contact Anna Rolandsen of ECCQ at advocacy@eccq.com.au. to receive the information for joining the group.
