Tennis and Pickleball

1. The Tennis and Pickleball facilities are for the exclusive use of members and their guests within the Golfing Class, and Sports Class who are entitled to unlimited use of the facility. These regulations are intended to give the greatest number of people opportunity to play.

2. All players must report to the Fitness Center Reception Desk on arrival must register any guest that will be playing.

3. USTA rules shall apply to all play.

4. The facilities open daily from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. or as otherwise posted.

5. Court Reservations: Tournaments, socials, USTA matches, clinics, exhibitions, and private lessons by appointment take precedence for use of courts • A court may be reserved no more than one week in advance of play. • The maximum reservation time is 1 ½ hours play. If play does not commence promptly at the scheduled time, the reservation is forfeited when others are awaiting court availability. • Reservations may be made in person, by phoning the reception desk, emailing the Director of Tennis and Pickleball or log onto the PNCC website to make a reservation • No individual may have more than one reservation per day in effect at a given time. • Cancellations should be made as early as possible, but no later than one hour prior to the reserved court time. Failure to cancel or arrive at the reserved time may result in the assessment of a court charge.

6. Courts are subject to close with or without notice and may remain closed for the remainder of the day, at the sole discretion of the Club personnel.

7. The ball machine may be reserved up to 7 days prior to play by any Member over the age of 16. Reservations can be made for 30 minutes or an hour.

8. Members may bring guests. In town guests, defined as those residing within 50 miles from Club will be limited to use the facilities to 6 times per year. There will be a guest fee for weekdays and weekends charged to the member.

• All guests are subject to guest fees. This would include other tennis professionals or their wives which were brought in as a guest by any member.

9. House guests will be given full and unrestricted tennis privileges if the member secures a house guest privilege card from the Club’s office and pays the appropriate fee. The houseguest is a temporary resident in the member’s home for more than one week and up to one month and is visiting the member from a point 50 miles or more from the Club.

• No member may bring more than three (3) guests to the tennis courts at one time unless prior arrangements have been made through the club.

10. All players must register with the Tennis Professional prior to using the tennis facilities.

11. Courts may not be used when the nets are lowered, or when closed for periodic maintenance. The Director of Tennis and Pickleball has been granted authority to determine when the courts are unfit to play.

12. Appropriate tennis attire must be worn at all times. Tank tops, blue-jeans and cut-offs are not permitted. • Only tennis shoes designed for play on soft courts will be permitted on fast dry courts. The Tennis and Pickleball Professional should be consulted prior to entering the courts. • Only smooth soled tennis shoes of the types available for sale in the Tennis shop shall be worn on the courts. Basketball shoes or other types of “ridged” soled shoes are strictly prohibited. • Members and guests who have recently played on the clay courts must change shoes before entering any indoor Club facility.

13. Food and Beverage consumption, other than bottled water, is confined to designated areas only. All trash, including ball cans and tops should be deposited in the proper receptacles.

14. Practice Balls will be collected before leaving the court.

15. Last person leaving the courts at night should turn off the lights.

16. All private events must be approved by and arranged with the appropriate Club personnel.

USTA Leagues

USTA teams are formed and captained by PNCC members. If the captain desires, nonmembers may be added to form and/or complete a team. Non-members must be limited to 2 per team unless approved by Tennis Committee and Club Management. A non-member on a team will be charged a fee per season. non-member is allowed to play in the home matches as well as practice with their team as long as at least two other players on the court are members.
