As the one who pioneered the award for The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers (TOPS), the Rotary Club of Makati Metro hails you as our modern-day heroes of society. The Rotary Club of Makati Metro is also proud and thankful to the Metrobank Foundation for its integration of TOPS into its Outstanding Filipinos Awards. which has now grown to its present national revered and esteemed status. It continues to lift the reputation and morale of soldiers, police officers, and teachers.

Before its integration to the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos, this category was popularly known as the Metrobank Foundation and the Rotary Club of Makati Metro’s Search for The Outstanding Philippine Soldiers or TOPS. TOPS was started by the Rotary Club of Makati Metro way back in 1994.
With the strong partnership and commitment by these two organizations, and the full support given by the Armed Forces of the Philippines to continue to recognize and honor every year the outstanding achievements, gallantry and selfless sacrifices of our soldiers, the Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos-Award for Soldiers continues to raise national awareness and the admiration of the civilian sector for the invaluable contributions of our Filipino soldiers in nation-building.

Iam delighted to present this year’s Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos.
Our teacher awardees represent the Filipino educator in the 21st century. We have a resourceful educator who transformed underserved learning facilities to become modernized spaces revolutionizing how students learn. A teacher social media influencer who harnessed the power of technology to explain concepts not only to his students but also to a larger audience. A relentless teacher for learners-with-special-needs who is making waves in championing inclusive education. Lastly, a university professor specializing in educational assessment, breaking grounds not only to improve learning but also in ensuring the appropriate scope, depth, and rigor of students’ learning experiences.
On the other hand, our soldier awardees represent true grit and courage in the face of danger when safeguarding communities. A soldier from Marawi City who empowers the youth to become peace advocates, proving that everyone has a role in peace-building efforts. An air force officer specializing on training future military aviators during the formative years of a pilot’s career. A decorated soldier whose innate talent for intelligence work has led to innovative practices in intelligence operations.
Meanwhile, our police officer awardees stand out from the rest whose character, integrity and devotion to duty remain untarnished. A police officer who is a mentor for the lost and for those embroiled in the perils of crime. A woman police officer who has dedicated herself to eradicating scalawags from their ranks as well as advocated for LGBTQ rights and representation in law enforcement. Likewise, a senior police officer considered as a transformational leader for innovative law enforcement and community development
