Hello Neighbor,

A foundational program at May eld Junior School about the importance of contributing to a just society stems from our Mission and Catholic Social Teaching.

Respecting the life and dignity of every person and caring for God’s creation are key pillars of the student experience.

May eld’s Reach Out and Service Learning program provides students opportunities to serve others and advocate for change in our community and the world. Activities are organized by grade level, beginning as early as Kindergarten, up to 8th Grade, and often school wide. Students design events and raise funds through the Harvest Festival, Student Council Snack Bars, and Valentine’s Day Love Grams.

After a year of Reach Out, a culminating assembly is held in May to share re ections on learning and present donations to student-selected organizations such as Pasadena Humane, the Alzheimer’s Association, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and many more.

In thoughtful collaboration with community partners, successful Reach Out and Service Learning are most impactful when students understand what it means to contribute actively and humanely to the common good.
