(1-2) Microbiomes and Metabolism Sixth graders presented their research and results at an on-campus Maker Fair following an engineering internship. Students created a health bar for rescue workers and patients that was affordable, tasty, and met specific metabolic requirements. (3-4) Harvest Festival’s a Big Hit Games, great food, haunted houses, a costume parade, and an awesome raffle. The school-wide event is organized entirely by the Eighth Grade. Funds raised benefit Mayfield's Reach Out, a school-wide service-learning and community outreach program benefiting non-profit organizations and social causes.

“Give me, O Lord, a love full of action, that I may be like the Holy Child Jesus in my thoughts, in my words, in my actions.” - Cornelia Connelly, Founder of the Society of the Holy Child Jesus
MJS Branch Neighborhood Newsletter Hello Neighbor,
(5-6) 14th Annual Recycle & Read Parent volunteers sort and organize gently used books donated by the school community for the two-day, on-campus event. Fall 2022
It has been a busy fall at Mayfield Junior School. Please enjoy photos as we now move into the Holiday Season. Advent and the weeks leading up to Christmas provide opportunities for preparing for the birth of Jesus, reflecting on the reasons for the season, giving, and continuing long-standing community traditions. Service and giving are part of Mayfield's fabric and are essential to the school's identity as expressions of faith in action. All take on an even greater significance during the holidays. School Families organize an Adopt-a-Family service-learning project to bring Christmas cheer to families at Good Shepherd Shelter in Los Angeles, and Kindergarten students and families gather presents for members of a local church. The Nativity Play will feature the retelling of the Christmas story by Mayfield's Kindergartners, and the Mother Mary Christmas Luncheon celebrates all in the MJS community. A festive Christmas Concert by students in Grades 1-8 at St. Andrew Church and an on-campus Christmas Prayer service will conclude our time before the Holiday Break. Christmastime blessings to you and your family! Learn more about Mayfield Junior School at www.mayfieldjs.org.
