Meet Mayfield

students are everything.
students are everything.
Thoughtful, creative, and confident, Tai has a knack for finding her own path. Whether working on an experiment in science class or raising the bar a few inches more for the high jump, she approaches every challenge with determination and an open mind. When applying to Mayfield in 5th grade, Tai’s mom wrote how she hoped her daughter would become a role model for younger students. Today Tai is a leader as Mayfield’s Student Body President. The eighth-grade year will be busy – often tough, but that’s okay - new situations and responsibilities make Tai brave.

Third grader Sebi spreads positive vibes everywhere he goes. Cheerful and easygoing, his joyful outlook is contagious. On the playground or in the classroom (the library is his favorite!), Sebi enjoys his friends, loves to learn, and participates to the fullest with a mix of independence, curiosity, and determination.

Rosalind loves to laugh - with friends, her parents, or just cracking herself up with an observation or thought. Deeply curious, she is an avid reader and will quickly share her unique perspective in even the shortest conversations. Genuine and charming, Rosalind is a philosopher in mary-janes.
Ready to soak it all in.
Guy can solve a Rubik’s Cube in 1 minute and 18 seconds. It is not surprising he excels at math and loves coding and programming. Don’t let the studious glasses and serious look fool you, though. Curious and sharp, Guy has a great sense of humor, is a keen musician (piano, guitar and a singer), and loves being with his “super funny family.”
Athlete, scientist, dancer, baker – future zoologist. Eleanor has many interests and loves learning new things. With dreams of being an Olympian – she also wants to study environmentalism and biology in college and then travel to the Galapagos Islands to study diverse ecosystems. Eleanor is quick to say her teachers and friends inspire her. Confident, curious, and focused, she leads by example and thinks we all need to listen to each other more. The sky’s the limit- there is no stopping Eleanor.
A Mayfield Junior School education comes full circle when the time comes to send our eighth graders off to high school and out into the world.

Friendship means a lot to Ethan. He remembers the moment he and his best friend met on the first day of kindergarten. Fast forward to his eighth-grade year, and he was a bit sentimental. Ethan grew up at Mayfield. Exuberant and a bit mischievous in the early years to even and dependable by 8th grade, Ethan embraced all Holy Child offered him. He took chances, excelled at math, was a team player on the court or field, and spoke confidently. Graduation allowed him to appreciate what he gained, and take it forward.
Casper is a very energetic kid. Everything he does is fast- when talking (very fast), a whole series of expressions can pass across his face in minutes- you must pay attention. Math is his subject. Video games challenge him. Friends make him happy.
Natalia loves hiking with her family and spending time with her baby sister. Quiet and humble. Natalia joined the debate team to challenge herself, and to become a more confident speaker. She has learned in her nearly nine years at MJS that taking chances is worth it. No matter the outcome, give it a try, and you will be supported.
Passionate, hard-working, creative.
Jackson has been dancing since he was 4-years old, and he loves it. Jackson also loves being a regular kid – hanging out with his friends, learning new things, enjoying time with his family. His talent as a dancer, the dedication and drive, seem to come from a place of faith, a deep belief in himself and a peacefulness that both contrasts and compliments the high-energy pace of his dance. Artist and student of life.
