Dear Friends, I hope this message finds you healthy and safe! I wanted to send you an update regarding the status of the Mayerson JCC’s 60 & Better programs. As you may have heard, the governor has decided to lift the mandate during the month of September that forced all senior centers to close. The J is committed to the health of all of our members, and given the mixed use of our facility, we are carefully considering the safest way to reopen. The senior center will not reopen until we feel that we can provide a safe environment for everyone involved. We will keep you updated as our plans evolve. We understand that even after we are able to reopen, some of our 60 & Better community will still be engaging with us from the comfort of their homes. We don’t want you to stress about it – please call us at 513.792.5667 if you need any assistance. If we are unable to answer, please be sure to leave a message and we will call you back; the J is here for you. We understand that many people are especially needing help with food during this time. We can help you navigate these challenges. Since this pandemic began, we have delivered over 34,536 meals; in the same time frame last year, we delivered just 26,094 meals. This includes 12 rounds of 14-day kosher lunch meals, to 69 unique seniors, totaling 6,370 meals. Since we are not certain when we will be returning, I wanted to remind you about some exciting virtual programs that our Programming Manager, Melissa Shrimplin, has created for you to enjoy through Zoom.
