La superficie dell’edificio è di circa 20.000 mq e permette di ospitare circa 200 posti letto, 30 ambulatori, l’area chirurgica e il pronto soccorso. Il progetto è concepito con un livello -1, definito tecnologico, che ospita le zone nevralgiche dell’ospedale (sale parto, sale chirurgiche e pronto soccorso), un livello 0 caratterizzato dall’hospital street a tripla altezza, gli ambulatori, e le degenze che si svilippano ai livelli 1 e 2. Il piano terra è caratteriz-
zato da una lunga Hospital Street che ospita gli esercizi commerciali e gli elementi pubblici. Questo ambiente, a tripla altezza, permette di unire i flussi interni dell’ospedale con i flussi dei visitatori diminuendo il grado di segregazione all’interno della struttura. All’Hospital Street si attestano i 2 corpi degli ambulatori e quello delle degenze.
The entire building is about 20.000 square meters with 200 accommodations, 30 clinics, surgery area and the emergency. ths inside the building and to give a very public meaning to the hospital, helping people to overcome strange sensations coming from their illness. The part of the rooms starts from the hospital street where three volumes and two internal courtyards allow light and air to enter inside the building.
