In July 2016, Randel South Plumbing celebrated their 60th anniversary of MPAQ membership. Randel South is the current owner and sole contractor of Randel South Plumbing in Brisbane North, which he took over from his father, founder of the company, Ken South. As a proud, family run business that focuses on providing excellent customer service, which has seen them maintain a customer base that spans three generations, Randel South Plumbing are a small company with a big heart and a special place in MPAQ history. “My grandfather was one of the original members of MPAQ, but his records were lost in the Bowen Hills Fire,” Randel told us.

The industry has changed a lot in the last 60 years, and Randel has seen developments in technology and equipment change his company in that time—laptops are now a must have item in the Randel South Plumbing truck! However, despite all the changes, their MPAQ membership has remained a constant. “MPAQ is very helpful. The fuel card, trade nights and information about changes in the industry requirements have helped my business over the years.” What is next for Randel South Plumbing? Randel wants to keep the company in the family and hopes his son will be joining the business soon to continue the family legacy for generations to come, and MPAQ hope to be there every step of the way.
