SEHNSUCHT nach MEHR Im Jahr 2019 stellte der weltreisende Weimarer Künstler Jens-Christian Wittig (JCW) seine einzigartige Digitalkunst erstmalig unter der Ägide des Galeristen Franz N. Kröger an der Ostseeküste aus. Schon damals weckte er mit seinen Werkschau, die den Titel „Eternal blue“ trug, in den Betrachtern Sehnsucht, Fernweh, Lebensfreude, Bergehren und Lust am Genuss…

Und dann kam Corona.

Und mit ihm Verzicht.

Schmerz.

Isolation.

Kummer. Krise. Leid...

Im August 2021 kehrt JCW nun zurück an die Küste und möchte mit seiner neuen Schau, die er bezeichnend mit „Sehnsucht“ betitelt, an 2019 und die Gefühle, die seine Bilder damals auslösten, anknüpfen. „Ich möchte die Leute mit meinen neuen Bildern verblüffen, erfreuen, überraschen,“ so JCW. „Sie sollen Lebensfreude spüren, Kraft und Optimismus. Ich möchte mit ihnen in ein neues Lebenskapitel tanzen, das voller Licht und Lust und Liebe ist...“

Zentrales Motiv ist dabei sein neuestes Werk „Where have you been, Alegra?“ / „Wo bist du gewesen, Freude?“ Es zeigt eine in goldenes Licht getauchte Schönheit. Ihre Augen sind kontemplativ geschlossen. Ihr Blick ist ruhig, entspannt, gedankenversunken. So als betrachte sie die Welt von innen - mit der Vorfreude auf den Moment, wenn sie die Augen wieder öffnet wird…

JCWs großformatige Arbeiten sind komplex, vielschichtig und tiefgründig. Seine einzigartige farbexplosive Kunst basiert auf seiner speziellen Form der digitalen Dekomposition und Verfremdung.

Er schichtet Farben und Strukturen überraschend neu, überlagert sie bis ins hundertfache und findet so zu zu seiner ganz eigenen Bildaussage in Raum, Farbe und Licht. So entstehen neue Welten, die zugleich fremd und vertraut erscheinen können – die es verstehen, den Betrachter zu verblüffen und zu fesseln.

KISS THE GLASS „Golden Mask behind the plexy“ „Zwischen mir und der Welt war immer eine Glasscheibe“ Karl Lagerfeld war es, der diesen Satz hinterließ, bevor er sich im Februar 2019 für immer verabschiedete. Damals waren es Worte eines genialen Sonderlings, der immer etwas entrückt und distanziert wirkte.

Einer, der die Leute auf Abstand hielt – und der doch nicht ohne ihren Applaus leben konnte.

Heute ist seine Sichtweise omnipräsent. Die Welt hat sich verändert.

Wir leben mit künstlich geschaffenen Barrieren. Distanz zu halten ist kein Sonderweg mehr, sondern Alltag. Und dennoch suchen wir, trotz oder gerade wegen der Grenzen, umso mehr die Nähe. „Golden Mask behind the Plexy“ greift sphistisch und berührend zugleich dieses neue, zeitgenössische Gefühl auf.

Eine Frau steht hinter einer Acrylglasscheibe, ihre Augen sind fast kontemplativ geschlossen, sie haucht auf eine Oberfläche einen zarten Kuss… weder traurig, noch glücklich – eher selbstvergessen, traum-

versunken, ihre Sehnsucht nach innen gekehrt.

Doch ist die Frau echt oder nur eine schöne Vision…? Wir wissen es nicht, werden es nie erfahren. Denn sie ist nah und gleichzeitig so fern.

Wir wollen sie berühren, doch dringen nicht hindurch. Sie ist in ihrer Welt, wir in unserer. Was bleibt ist die Illusion.

Das großformatigen, farbintensive Werk baut ein Gefühl von Nähe und gleichzeitiger Distanz auf. Das Gold des Gesichts und das dominierende Pink des Hintergrunds bilden solch einen deutlichen Kontrast zueinander – und strahlen doch gleichzeitig eine seltsame, ergreifende Harmonie aus. Wie Teile eines Puzzles die zusammengehören und sich trotzdem nicht in einander fügen.

Das Werk ist Teil einer limitierten Serie in vier Farbvarianten. Zum ersten Mal wird es der Öffentlichkeit vorgestellt in der Pop Up Ausstellung Kunsthoch3 im Oktober 2010 in Frankfurt am Main. Schon vor der Erstausstellung hat es das Restaurant Cielo in Weimar für seine FineDining Sektion erworben.
