We are delighted to release another issue of LUXCIOR, entering the final stretch of 2025 as Houston’s definitive voice of luxury.

Yet no matter how far we advance, how much we acquire, or how many mountains we climb, something within us remains unsettled. The more we rely on our own understanding, the more elusive peace becomes.

We may plan, educate ourselves, dream, decide, and strive with determination, yet we always seem to fall short, facing challenges we cannot overcome. No matter how educated, strong, wealthy, privileged, influential, or powerful we may be, we eventually find ourselves colliding against the iron wall of failure and pain.

This truth pierces through human pride and reminds us that no decision, no strategy, no plan can guarantee fulfillment apart from God. Our wisdom is limited, our foresight flawed, and our emotions deceptive. The illusion of control is one of humanity’s greatest deceptions, the belief that we can guide our own destinies and secure happiness by our own hand.

King Solomon, the wealthiest, most powerful, and wisest man to ever walk this world -after Jesus- left us a sobering truth: “There is a way that seems right to a man, but its end is the way of death.” - Proverbs 14:12

Scripture reveals a divine paradox: true success begins when we surrender control. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.” - Proverbs 3:5–6

The path to genuine happiness, lasting peace, enduring riches, and eternal life is not one we design, it is one only God can provide. He offers not mere correction, but transformation. He doesn’t just fix our mistakes; He renews the very heart that makes

them. When our thoughts, emotions, and decisions are led by Him, life gains a supernatural rhythm, one aligned with eternal purpose rather than temporary pleasure.

Jesus, the incarnation of the Creator Himself, declared: “I have come that you may have life, and have it abundantly.”John 10:10; and He added: “Without Me, you can do nothing.” - John 15:5

This is profound. The abundant life He spoke of isn’t measured by possessions, followers, fame, or fortune. Those are fleeting illusions that keep us endlessly busy chasing after what has no real value. To be led by God is not to lose, it is to gain beyond measure. It is to exchange temporary uncertainty for divine assurance, to live in such a way that even trials become tools for growth, detours become direction, and silence becomes the space for revelation.

The futility of human direction lies in its blindness. The power of divine direction lies in its omniscience. The God who formed the universe also formed the plan for your life, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope.” - Jeremiah 29:11

So, surrender the illusion of control. Invite God not only into your crises but into your choices. Let Him rule your heart, your dreams, your relationships, your business, and your daily decisions. For only under His lordship can we truly live abundantly, now and forever.

Let this be our prayer: “Lead me, Lord. Guide every thought I think, every word I speak, every step I take. For in Your will is my peace, in Your path is my purpose, and in Your presence is my eternal joy.”

A DAY WITH MISS UNIVERSE

An intimate encounter between grace and grandeur as Miss Universe experienced the heart of Houston’s finest.

During her two-day visit to Houston for her exclusive LUXCIOR and Somos Houston cover production, Miss Universe Victoria Kjær Theilvig was treated to the very best the city has to offer. The photoshoot took place inside the iconic Nina Magon Lounge at Zadok Jewelers, where she was personally and graciously hosted by Dror and Helene Zadok. In a beautiful gesture of appreciation, Segev Zadok presented Victoria with an elegant mother-of-pearl necklace, a piece as timeless as the moment itself.

Following the four-hour session, Alberto Lombardi himself hosted lunch at his acclaimed Lombardi Cucina Italiana in Uptown, where hospitality and Italian excellence intertwined impecabbly.

The evening culminated with an intimate private gathering at a spectacular and newly completed River Oaks estate, masterfully designed and built by Rony Claude Le Brun. Victoria arrived in a Rolls-Royce from Rolls-Royce of North Houston driven by Butch Hammad personally, wearing a stunning Pucci gown, courtesy of Pucci at The River Oaks District, embodying the sophistication that defines both the brand and the Queen herself.

Receiving a direct email from John Hennessey himself requesting information to feature his brand “in your beautiful magazine” —as he graciously put it— was undeniably flattering. After all, here was an internationally celebrated legend in the world of hypercars reaching out personally. As he later shared with me, he first came across LUXCIOR while boarding his private jet at one of Houston’s airports where our magazine is distributed (for privacy reasons, I won’t reveal which FBO he was referring to). Still, it was gratifying to know that our distribution team is doing its job —and doing it well.

Two weeks later, when I sat down with John Hennessey at his Sealy facility, what struck me first wasn’t the cars, it was the calm, deliberate focus of the man behind them. A clearly devoted family man and, to my satisfaction, an unapologetic Christian. John spoke openly about his faith with the same authenticity that defines his work.
