Cet hiver Photo Tops Socquet fêtera ses 90 ans. En 1923, Armand Socquet photographiait déjà son village, avec une « chambre photographique en bois » et ouvrait sa boutique, à quelques pas de L’Hôtel Mont Blanc. Aujourd’hui, après les enfants d’Armand, ce sont les petits-enfants, Eric et Patricia qui perpétuent ce travail de photographe. Attachée à son patrimoine, la famille Tops Socquet a conservé tout ce temps les plaques négatives en verre de ces magnifiques photographies des années 20 à 30, ainsi que de nombreuses photos de toutes les grandes périodes qui ont marqué Megève. Agrandies et encadrées, les voilà sublimées pour apporter une dimension rétro et chic et décorer de manière unique les plus beaux chalets. Photographes professionnels, Eric et Patricia Tops connaissent Megève sous tous ses angles et sont très souvent demandés pour couvrir les mariages et les grandes occasions, qui rythment la vie de la station.
This winter Photo Tops Socquet will be celebrating its 90th anniversary. In 1923, Armand Socquet was already taking photographs of his village, with a wooden box camera and opened his shop, a stone’s throw away from the Hôtel Mont Blanc. Today, following in the footsteps of Armand’s children, it is the turn of grandchildren Eric and Patricia to carry on the photographic business. The Tops Socquet family are very attached to their heritage and have all this time kept the glass plates negatives of these magnificent photographs taken in the 20s and 30s, as well as a large number of photos of all the great periods in Megève’s history. Enlarged and framed, here they are enhanced to bring a unique retro-chic dimension to the décor in the finest chalets. Eric and Patricia Tops are professional photographers who know Megève from every angle and are very often asked to cover weddings and big occasions which are part and parcel of life at the resort.
