Founded in March 2019, Zero Emissions Ship Technology Association (ZESTAs) activities include: » Representing Zero Emissions Ship Technology (ZEST) projects and technology providers in the shipping industry. » Increasing awareness and understanding within shipping stakeholders of readilyavailable cutting-edge technology through events and media publication. » Influencing regulators and policymakers at national and international levels to introduce legislation that necessitates and facilitates the uptake of ZEST. » Creating a platform for ZEST providers to collaborate on projects for real-life zeroemissions vessels. » Supporting regulators and industry in assuring commercial shipping reduces emissions on a steep trajectory in-line with 1.5 degrees warming, set out in the Paris Agreement. Full membership of our organisation is strictly reserved only to technology providers who can guarantee that their
project or technology produces zero greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions at the ship-level, with minimal upstream environmental impacts. We also accept associate membership to trade associations that comply with ZESTAs objectives and bodies committed to achieving zero GHG emissions in future through collaboration with the membership. Currently, our membership consists of more than 30 organisations spread across 17 countries in Europe, Asia and North America. We support all technologies required to make zero-emissions shipping possible. These include hydrogen fuel cells, marine batteries, wind propulsion, energy storage systems (ESS) and innovative energy efficiency measures, as well as accompanying services in safety, design, finance, ownership and system integration. From industry leaders such as PowerCell, Nedstack and SPBES to disruptive start-ups including Econowind and Evolve Hydrogen, our membership boasts unique experience of real-life deployment of maritime zero
