PHYSICAL EDUCATION

The past scholastic year was packed with activities and talks on various subjects as well as different tournaments takingplacethroughouttheyear.

Both year 7 and year 8 of the SCDP football group participated with success in tournaments held nationwide. Our year7groupwonthetournamentwhiletheyear8reachedthequarterfinals.

As part of the syllabus, we had visiting speakers occupying various local roles in sports. The subjects were doping, sportsmedia,photography,andsportsintegrity.Othersubjectsincludedsportsnutrition,currentaffairs,thehistory ofsports,andthefundamentalsofstrengthandconditioning.

PRE-OPTION MUSIC PROGRAMME

As from this year, the Music Section within the Directorate for Learning and Assessment Programmes offered as a pilot project the Pre-Option Music Programme in our school. This 2-year programme was offeredtoallstudentsinYear6.Throughoutthisprogrammestudentslearnpianotechniqueandtheoryof music, aural training, listening and appreciation, as well as the historical aspect of the subject. This new opportunity will give students the option to enhance their artistic talents, learn the piano and eventually pursue their music studies at Year 9. Well done to all three students under the guidance of Ms Nicolette Miller,HeadofDepartmentMusic.

My Experience was excellent, and I loved it so much with my other two best friends, Naomi and Jake. I learned so much this year and I am hoping to learn more about music nextyearinyear8.

Thisyear,Igottheopportunitytotakemusic as a pre-option. My experience was outstanding. I was able to learn both music theory and technique, as well as some music history. Our teacher was really professional and looking forward to learning more about thissubjectinthecomingyears.
