IDENTIFICATION CARD

Neil Gaiman was born on November 10th, 1960 in the city of Portchester (Hampshire), in England, and grew up in Sussex. As a child, he developed a great love of reading, both books and comics. His greatest dream was to become a writer and for that reason he did not finish his studies and began to work collaborating in various publications as a critic, columnist or interviewer. One of those interviews, with Alan Moore, changed his life: It awakened his old love for comics and he began to consider the possibility of writing stories for this medium, instructed by Alan Moore. After a couple of filming jobs, in 1986 he met Dave McKean, a young cartoonist with a peculiar style, and together they created their first graphic novel, Violent Cases.
