CROSS CULTURAL FUSION

My concept for a cross cultural art brand is the idea of the therapeutic power of creativity, a welcoming space for all individuals, a journey of self-discovery through art making, a way to find support and connection, and celebrate the transformative impact of art on personal and collective well-being. The fictional brand I created is based off of my own artistic practice: Margeaux Studio. The package design is representative of the brand with the same color pallet, logo, and fonts. The inside is more bright and colorful and has a message “a journey of self discovery through art making awaits”. I wanted the design to feel like each customer is opening a little box of sunshine, and this includes offering all products and content in multiple languages with international shipping.

I used InDesign to create an art catalog boom cover and some sample pages for the content. I titled this book “...to be transformed” to reflect the series of scans and other similar works of mine that will be featured. I chose to design a website for Margeaux Studio. I included the home page, the product page for the book I designed as a previous platform, and the blog section with some example topics. By offering all products and content in multiple languages and providing international shipping, Margeaux Studio transcends geographical boundaries, inviting individuals from various backgrounds to partake in the therapeutic journey of creativity. The Margeaux Studio brand is centered around the idea that art has the ability to unite people across continents and languages, fostering understanding, empathy, and collective well-being.

Services

Margeaux is a multimedia artist whose work includes both digital and traditional methods, often incorporating a collage-based process and impressionistic motifs. Her art practice is often a meditative experience and explores the artists ability to externalize anxious thoughts or feelings.

Through exploring her own internal emotions and anxieties, Margeaux reexamines them and translates them into her physical works. The creative process is a compulsory, habitual process for the artist, and it has become an outlet for self-expression and exploration.

Currently, Margeaux is completing their B.A. at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida where they have exhibited their works at Gallery 217 in several juried exhibitions. Margeaux recently completed an internship at the NSU Art Museum as part of the Marketing Department and continues to work as a f reelance graphic designer, photographer and calligrapher.

I am designing for a new pant company called Swatch, with the slogan “Color your Life”. The idea behind this company is to be a painting service that is friendly, reliable, and focused on safety and equality. Many companies that provide painting or construction-type services are male-dominated which can be intimidating for a woman living alone, a women-run business needing services, or even an LGBTQ friendly establishment. My company aims to fill the gap in the market for inclusive and open-minded on-site painters. I utilized Adobe Illustrator to design the exterior of the paint cans, and created a realistic, 3D model with Adobe Dimension. I wanted to create a tangible product design that shows the functionality of the brand design and ties together the brand aesthetic.

The brand name Swatch paired with the slogan “Color Your Life” empowers the customers with choosing what fits their lifestyle.

The bold, yet vibrant and friendly color pallet of the van wrap design makes the presence of the company very apparent, enabling visibility so clients feel safer. Highly visible and recognizable designs develop brand recognition and familiarity that puts customers at ease while also catching the attention of potential new customers on the road.

New Media describes media platforms and digital tools that are opening a new category of marketing, digital experiences, and more. Saunter Studios is a captivating traveling art gallery, redefining the traditional art experience through innovative digital and projection-based mediums.

Showcasing a fusion of physical artworks and their digital counterparts, Saunter Studios offers visitors a multi-dimensional exploration of creativity. As guests wander through the gallery, they are guided by an interactive digital tour guide and touch-screen displays. I chose this name because “saunter” is another word for strolling, or meandering. This invites visitors to use the interactive digital features to slow down and immerse themselves into the gallery experience. The new media animation of my character and host of the traveling art gallery, Sami, would be a video on screens throughout the gallery providing audible and written information about the artist and artworks.

BILLBOARD DESIGN

Imagine driving down a bustling city street, and amidst the sea of advertisements, a billboard catches your eye with its simple yet captivating design. Against a backdrop of vibrant colors, a hand-sketch quirky character, reminiscent of a modern-day explorer, beckons with a mischievous grin.

This character, named Sami, embodies the spirit of Saunter Studios. As commuters pause to take in the billboard, they are not just witnessing an advertisement but are invited to embark on an immersive journey through the fusion of physical and digital art forms. All of the key information is clear and visible, and the design is consistent with the aesthetic and branding of the gallery.
