FIRST OF MANY FIRSTS SINCE 1982--

In 1982 we started our journey to make the finest cycling shoes possible for all cyclists, and today we celebrate our 35th anniversary of doing just that.

Over the past three and a half decades we have taken some bold and innovative “first� steps: we introduced the first Nylon sole cycling shoe with innersole; this was followed by the first Mountain Bike shoe, first Triathlon shoe, first cold weather winter cycling shoe, first Thermoform custom heat moldable shoe and first Cyclocross specific shoe.

Many viewed these as risky modernizations; however, we like to think of it more as a continuous adventure in pushing the boundaries of cycling shoe fit, function, performance, and design. We thank our loyal customers and future ones to be. We look forward to having you join us on this perpetual adventure.

Looking at the modern road bicycle, it’s hard not to be impressed by all the technology and evolution that’s gone into it’s design.

From the lightweight carbon fibre materials to the exquisitely engineered components, each transformation helps you be able to ride longer, climb higher, and accelerate faster. But when you look at cycling as a whole, there is one thing that will always be constant—and that constant is you. Ultimately, you are the engine that generates the power to propel your machine into forward motion. All of your hard work and efforts (output of power) need to be harnessed and transferred directly to one singular crucial connection. The pedal interface is the transmission point–the only physical point on a bicycle where the body is connected to the machine. At Lake we firmly believe that the correct fitting shoe is of the utmost importance. The best fitting shoe = the best power transfer = the best riding experience.

In 1997 Lake introduced the first cold weather winter cycling shoe. From that year onward we improved and developed what has become to be recognized as the benchmark of winter cycling footwear today. For almost two decades, considerably before Fat Biking was even realized, we have been making sure the diehard winter cyclists are kept warm, comfortable and most important of all, riding.

Step 1: Trace your foot onto a sheet of paper.

After you trace you foot take a ruler and make a line to mark the furthest point on all four sides as shown below.

Step 3: Width measurement (Points 3 to 4 as shown below). Using a millimeter ruler get the measurement of the widest distance of foot from side to side.

Step 4: Repeat step for both feet as your feet may be different sizes. Typically you will want shoes that accommodate your largest foot the most comfortably.

We cannot get correct measurement from only 2 digits. Example: 26cm cannot give us correct data.
