EMBRACING SPRING

With spring’s arrival, we welcome warmer days, blooming gardens, and more opportunities to connect. It’s a time for fresh air, laughter, and shared moments with friends and family.
In this edition of our Family Update, we’re proud to highlight recent awards and recognitions across our communities, the meaningful intergenerational connections being fostered, and the generosity of residents, families, and associates in support of the Heart Foundation.
Spring is a season of growth and gratitude, and we are thankful for the vibrant community we share. Stay connected by following our social media channels and visiting our website for the latest updates. Wishing you a season filled with joy and renewal!
Spring is in the air — and on our plates! We’re delighted to introduce Culinary Taste of Spring, an exciting seasonal dining experience across all Maplewood communities. Our talented culinary teams are embracing the vibrant flavors of the season, crafting fresh, locally sourced dishes that celebrate spring’s bounty.
Mark your calendars: Our seasonal Spring menus will debut on Sunday, April 6th, bringing an array of creative, local delights to the table. Each community will also host its own Taste of Spring event, inviting residents to savor these fresh, flavorful dishes alongside friends and neighbors. From crisp greens and tender vegetables to fragrant herbs and bright, refreshing bites, this is a feast that captures the spirit of renewal and warmth that spring brings.
Stay tuned for more details on your community’s event, as well as upcoming Easter and Passover celebrations — we can’t wait to share this delicious experience with you!
Valentine’s Day was filled with warmth, joy, and meaningful moments throughout our Maplewood communities. Residents gathered to celebrate love in all its forms — from lifelong romances to treasured friendships and the deep sense of community we share every day.
From festive socials and decadent desserts to music, dancing, and creative crafts, each community found its own special way to celebrate. The day served as a beautiful reminder that connection, kindness, and joy are at the heart of what makes our communities so special — and that love, in all its forms, continues to grow and flourish here, every day.
Residents recently experienced the heartwarming benefits of animal therapy, welcoming a variety of furry, feathered, and even spiky visitors. The Little Petting Zoo brought an adorable lineup of animals — including bunnies, birds, a hedgehog, a frog, and more — sparking smiles and creating unforgettable moments of joy. In addition to the petting zoo, residents also enjoyed visits from friendly, gentle therapy dogs, offering comfort, companionship, and plenty of tail wags.
These interactions not only brighten spirits but also provide proven emotional and physical benefits — reducing stress, boosting mood, and fostering meaningful connections. There’s truly something special about the unconditional love animals bring into our lives, and it’s a joy to see that love shared throughout our communities.
Every day, Maplewood residents take the lead in shaping a vibrant, connected community. This month, lively outings to local restaurants turned meals into shared experiences filled with conversation and laughter. Intimate tea gatherings provided moments of relaxation and reflection among friends, while resident-led choir performances filled the air with music, showcasing talent and passion for all to enjoy.
These moments, both big and small, create a tapestry of togetherness that makes life at Maplewood truly extraordinary.

In February, our Maplewood communities came together to support the HEART Foundation through a series of exciting fundraising activities. Residents and associates participated in raffles, contests, and more, all contributing to the success of the initiative. The HEART Foundation’s mission is to provide support and financial assistance to Maplewood associates and their families facing unexpected, life-altering challenges. The enthusiasm and generosity shown were truly inspiring, as everyone worked together to help care for those who make our communities so special. Thanks to the incredible support from our communities, it was a successful month, and we’re proud to have made a meaningful impact on this important cause.
At Maplewood Senior Living, we know that meaningful connections bring joy, purpose, and a sense of belonging. That’s why we’re excited to continue our partnership with The Legacy Project, Inc. (TLP), a program that brings college students and older adults together to share life stories and build friendships.
Founded at Tufts University in 2020, TLP pairs students with residents for weekly conversations over 10 weeks, culminating in a collection of personal stories. These connections foster understanding, combat loneliness, and celebrate the wisdom of our residents.
Following success at Maplewood at Weston (MA) and Maplewood at Cuyahoga Falls (OH) with students from Tufts and Kent State, we’re looking forward to bringing TLP to more of our communities through budding relationships with the University of Connecticut, Princeton University, NYU, Harvard and George Washington University.
