FAMILY UPDATE

FALL 2025

TURNING THE PAGE TO FALL

As autumn settles in, we are reminded of the beauty in change—the golden leaves, the crisp air, and the comfort of gathering together. This season invites us to pause, reflect, and celebrate the moments that matter most with loved ones.

In this edition of our Family Update, we are pleased to share leadership updates across our communities, highlights from a season filled with summer gatherings and celebrations, and the many ways our programming continues to embrace the outdoors— bringing residents closer to nature and each other.

Autumn is a time of gratitude and connection, and we are grateful for the spirit of community that enriches life at Maplewood each day. We invite you to stay connected through our social media channels and website for the latest news and stories. May this season bring warmth, reflection, and meaningful moments.

CHAMPIONING CARE THROUGH LEADERSHIP

This season, Maplewood is proud to spotlight the talented leaders whose passion and expertise directly enrich the lives of our residents. Their work ensures that each individual who calls Maplewood home experiences care, connection, and a lifestyle that supports their well-being in meaningful ways.

Adena McGowan, CDP, Corporate Director of Memory Care – With extensive knowledge in dementia care and program innovation, Adena is leading initiatives that enhance support for residents and families, while ensuring best practices are embraced across all communities.

Cari Edwards, Corporate Director of Resident Experience – Cari’s focus on lifestyle programming and engagement is helping to shape experiences that inspire connection, purpose, and joy for residents every day.

Jason Wallin, Corporate Director of Culinary Services – Jason’s leadership continues to elevate dining across Maplewood, with a focus on creativity, quality, and a personalized approach that makes each meal an opportunity for enjoyment and connection.

Through their vision and commitment, residents benefit from care that feels personal, experiences that bring joy, and a community where well-being is always at the heart of what we do.

A SUMMER TO REMEMBER

This summer was filled with moments that inspired joy, discovery, and connection. Parades and holiday celebrations brought a lively spirit to our communities, while time spent on the water offered relaxation and a sense of adventure. Museum outings provided opportunities for cultural enrichment and meaningful conversation, nurturing curiosity and lifelong learning. It’s these small but meaningful moments that show what life at Maplewood is truly about, residents enjoying each day!

THE POWER OF NATURE

Spending time in nature brings lasting benefits for mind, body, and spirit. This summer, gardens became a place of purpose—where hands worked the earth, flowers bloomed, and the rewards of effort could be seen and felt. A student-led pollinator garden encouraged intergenerational connection and environmental awareness, while the Audubon Birds Program brought feathered visitors that inspired wonder, conversation, and calm. Together, these experiences highlight Maplewood’s commitment to fostering wellness, joy, and meaningful connection with the natural world.

CELEBRATING THE SPIRIT OF ASSISTED LIVING

Each September, Maplewood communities join the nationwide celebration of National Assisted Living Week, shining a light on the vibrant lives and unique journeys of those who call our communities home, while also recognizing the dedication of staff, volunteers, and caregivers whose compassion makes quality care possible. This year’s theme highlighted connection, purpose, and joy, brought to life through inspiring stories—like a realtor who began his career at 70, “DJ Joe” who shares music weekly, and an avid biker who continues to embrace adventure. Festive events and creative programming rounded out the celebration, offering a reminder that assisted living is not only about care, but about continuing to live fully, with dignity and joy.

IMPORTANT REMINDER: PROTECTING YOURSELF FROM SCAMS

At Maplewood, your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. Please keep these important reminders in mind:

Neither Maplewood—or our representatives—will ever ask for money, bank details, or personal information by phone call or text.

Calls from our payment partner, Sunbound, will only come from 623-263-9162. You can save this number to your contacts for ease.

If you return a call to that number, you will reach our official Sunbound Support line. You can always contact Sunbound directly by email at help@sunboundhomes.com for any questions or concerns.

If you ever receive a suspicious message, do not respond and notify an associate right away so we can assist you.

We are here to protect you. Thank you for staying alert and helping us keep our community safe!

Your referrals are the ultimate compliment for us. Refer a friend to one of our communities, and enjoy a $2,500 referral credit as our way of saying thank you.
