The New York Coffee Festival ignited the New York community of coffee lovers after a two-year hiatus, and did so in style.

Thousands of people focked to the three-day coffee event to discover the latest developments in the sector, including machines, tools and local roasters.

We were also there to meet the entire community and naturally, not forgetting to give those present a nice cup of coffee. The two stars of the stand, two black YOUs, have never ceased to impress with their continuous production of coffee with incredible aromas. The ModCup baristas (@modcupcoffee) accompanied us over the full three days and after using the YOU during the fair gave us their opinion:

“This machine has analogue capabilities but all the technological advances of a Bluetooth device. Manual extractions are possible, but you can also programme extraction, temperature, volume. So there is the best of both worlds in a truly user-friendly way. If you are familiar with the espresso parameters you can really do whatever you want with this machine, any extraction and any type of coffee.”

In addition to our booth, the YOUs also found space in the Roaster Village where they gave roasters the opportunity to let the participants try their coffee. We interviewed two of them, here is what they told us:

Counter Culture Coffee - Miami

“Today I had the privilege of using a YOU. One of the things that really impressed me about this machine is how easy it is to use. It is really user friendly. It has some very interesting features to play with, but the most important thing is that it is also consumer-friendly. Especially as instructors, we not only teach coffee professionals, but also consumers. So we are always looking for tools that we can introduce to them specifcally. So it’s great, I like it.”

City of Saints Coffee Roasters - New York

“We have obviously worked on many different machines in the past, all with different features and various consumer benefts. But I really loved this machine. It is easy to use and difcult to make mistakes. Access to the water tank is very easy and this is obviously wonderful. We managed to get to 6 bars during the extraction for most of the coffees this weekend. The display is great for keeping track of the situation, how much water is being used and the fow rate. For me personally, it is important to see how the coffee is extracted, so I loved this feature. Really consistent.”

An experience that once again has allowed us to feel the extent of the American market’s involvement in our community and all the qualities of our YOU.

See you soon New York!
