THE MESSENGER
Term 4 Week 1 Tuesday 8 October 2024
Dear School Community, Welcome back to school for Term 4! We hope that you and your children have had an energising break and that you are ready to embark on the adventures that await in this next exciting part of the year. Spring is here and Summer is coming. It is an excellent time to be thankful for living in the high country and begin thinking about accessing our beautiful surroundings as the rivers, mountains, and tracks become more accessible.
Our IB Students have been working hard over the holidays and have hit the ground running with their French oral exam on Monday and we wish them the best for the final stages of their studies. We welcome back the Year 10 students who have been on exchange in France. They return over the first two weeks of the term and
we congratulate them for taking on this challenge. Year 9 are no doubt looking forward to the significant undertaking of the Long Journey they have set for themselves and we also look forward to the Year 8 Project Presentations.
There are many wonderful opportunities on offer for our students this term and many opportunities for families to be involved in events and festivals. There are also information nights to keep in mind for those at transition points into Secondary School, Year 9 OED, and Year 10 Exchange.
Working Bee Saturday 12th October, 8.30 am – 12.30 pm
We appreciate and indeed rely upon your contributions to the upkeep of the school through your efforts at the working bees. The Term 4 working bee helps prepare the school for Spring Fair, which is an important day for our existing community and for those for whom it may be their first introduction to the school.
Wherever love and compassion are active in life, we can perceive the magic breath of the spirit blowing through the sense world.
Rudolf Steiner
Many classes and parents have already begun working on their contributions to the Spring Fair (Saturday, October 26). This may have included selling raffle tickets which went home with the previous Messenger. Along with working bees, the Spring Fair is another way we model for our children the value of contributing to something larger than ourselves and reinforce the sense that their education is about parents, students, staff, and the school community working together.
We hope you have an excellent term!
