Dear School Community,
Welcome back to school and to Term 4. The sun rises higher in the sky, the temperature is increasing, and Spring grass is starting to insist that we dust off the mower while the weeds are going into hyperdrive
Our Spring Fair is on the last Saturday of this month (25th October). It is an important showcase for the school as well as a fun day for the students. Thank you in advance for your support, including coming to the Working Bee between 8am and 12pm this Saturday, to help us battle the weeds and get the school looking its best. The Year 12 students are embarking on their final term of schooling here at MRSSK, and we wish them well with their final assessments and exams. We are grateful for the support they receive from our dedicated IBDP staff, who go above and beyond (including a recent holiday study camp to Newcastle with Armidale Steiner School). However, in the end, it is the students themselves who are responsible for putting in the effort and practice required, especially in these final stages.
This term, our Year 10 students return from France and other experiences, albeit at different times. We look forward to hearing about their adventures and challenges and to having them back to begin preparing for Year 11.
As part of the Community, Activity, Service (CAS) component of their IBDP, our current Year 11 students are planning a bike ride to Maindample, along the rail trail, as a fundraiser for the Friends of Venilale. This will occur on Saturday, November 8. We hope you can support their effort by attending. We have a sister school (Uai Laco) and are in the infant stages of planning a visit in 2026. Friends of Venilale also have their annual Ridgeline Walk fundraiser on Sunday, October 19th, which we encourage you to support.
Students and staff are busy planning for some exciting experiences this term, with Class 3 going on their first overnight camps at school and then to local farms (Farming Main Lesson), Class 4 off to Queenscliff
