THE MESSENGER
Term 2 Week 1 23 APRIL 2025

Dear School Community, Welcome back for Term 3. It’s an exciting time with Skiing coming up and the mountains covered in snow. We look forward to celebrating NAIDOC week, which was during the holidays, with a whole school assembly on Friday. NAIDOC week celebrates the culture and achievements of Australia’s First Nations people.
Over the holidays, almost 30 of our students attended the Border Music Camp. They had an excellent time developing their skills and being challenged to work with new people in new environments. We congratulate these students for taking on this challenge and their families for supporting them to do so.
Congratulations to Tom Logan Williams, Eamon Nealon, Ethan Nealon, Will Wettenhall, Catherine Wettenhall, Leila Robinson, Holly Hams, Anouk Van Wyk and Phoebe Brown who were all nominated for awards and especially to Eamon who won the achievement award in Newman Orchestra and who, along with Phoebe Brown, were
nominated for the overall camp achievement.
Well done. Please speak to them if you are interested in hearing more about the experience.
A new concrete surface for the basketball court has been installed over the holidays, as well as landscaping and drainage around the perimeter. It will be operational from the first day of Term 3, but we will need to wait until the weather warms up to complete the painting and line marking of the surface.
There is also a new noticeboard adjacent to the car park at the front of the school, which will contain school and community information. We are looking forward to our time on Mt Stirling, Mount Buller, as well as the Bogong High Plains, the destination for the Year 9 Snow Camp. A huge thank you in advance to the parents who volunteer to assist on the primary ski days. We can’t do it without you.
Best of Luck to Lex, Matilda & Archie as they head off to the State Championships for Term 3 primary school cross-country on Thursday. It’s an excellent effort to make it this far, and we hope you enjoy the experience.

WORKING BEE
Likewise, we cannot have a successful working bee without you, and we hope you can attend on Saturday to help around the grounds and in your classroom. If you can bring along a plate to share for morning tea, that would be wonderful. Please be mindful to include a list of ingredients and avoid the use of common allergens such as nuts.
Next week, via Sentral, we will be sending out a new Parent Code of Conduct along with guidance about communication. Please read these carefully and ask if you have any questions relating to any of the information contained within.
If you are experiencing any access difficulties with either the browser or app versions of Sentral, contact the office, and we will be happy to help. We hope you have a great Term 3 and enjoy the cool and cozy weather!
