DEPARTMENT OF ELECTRICAL AND ELECTRONICS ENGINEERING
Electrical and Electronics Engineering is one of the largest and fastest growing fields which generally deals with the study and application of Electricity, Electronics and Electromagnetism. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 1993 with the objective of developing professionals through quality education and initally had an intake of 45 students under M.S. University, Tirunelveli. The post graduate course in Applied Electronics was started in the year 2003, under ANNA University, Chennai, and developed into a Research Centre in the year 2007. In the year 2009 Noorul Islam College of Engineering was emerged as Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education. So now our department is successfully running under NICHE.

A lot of training is given in the Department regarding placements. A graduate in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering can get employment in diverse fields, whether it is public sector undertakings like Electricity Board, NPCIL, BHEL etc. or private sector like construction, steel, IT etc. Those who have a craving for work in Electricity Board or in PSU/Govt. Sector in the long run, should select a B.E. course with Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE) Specialization. The scope of Electrical and Electronics Engineering is unlimited.
Mitraa Samyoga Energy

Energy Wing of NICHE installed a 130KW solar power panel for CARDIAC CATHETERIZATION LABORATORY for health care applications at NIMS hospital. It is the first green energy powering the cath lab in Asia. It was designed under the guidance of Padma Vibhushan Shri .G. Madhavan Nair. This Project was presented at a UN conference held in New York in May 2015. The total Project Cost worth is Rs. 2, 30, 40,000/10 KW off-grid power plant is installed in our Marine Hostel campus. It is utilized for the purpose of cooking in the hostels. On the invitation of the United Nations Organisation the VicePresident of NIU and Managing Director of NIMS Medicity, Neyyattinkara, Mr.M.S.Faizal Khan delivered a talk on solar power plant at the “Second Sustainable Energy for All Forum” organized at the United Nations Head Quarters in Newyork, USA, from 18th to 21st May 2015. Impressed by Asia’s first Green cardiac Catheterization Lab at NIMS Medicity powered by a 220 kw solar power plant developed by the Departments of Mechanical Engineering & Electrical Engineering of Noorul Islam Centre for Higeher Education.
