DEPARTMENT OF AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING

The Department of Aircraft Maintenance Engineering was started in the year 2013 when Noorul Islam Education Trust absorbed an AME Institute named Hyderabad College of Aviation Technology (HCAT). HCAT was relocated from Hyderabad to Noorul Islam University campus. Hyderabad College of Aviation Technology (HCAT) has CAR-147(Basic) Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) approval which enables us to conduct an AME course under categories:

The Department of AME concurrently runs B.E. in AME as well as DGCA approved CAR-147 (Basic) through which the students are awarded two Certificates- B.E. Certificate from Noorul Islam Centre for Higher Education and CAR-147 (Basic) Certificate from HCAT.

The students are guided and empowered through enhancement of their talents with highly developed educational infrastructure and excellent faculty to fit right in the competitive world; with the right education to make them quality Engineers and leaders in the Aviation Industry.

Aviation is a profession of passion and dedication and a fast growing industry in the modern world. The Aircraft Maintenance Engineers play a significant role in the safe operation of the aircrafts. The safety, security and maintenance of aircrafts and passengers are on the shoulders of Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. AME inspects, services, repairs and overhauls civil aircrafts. The AME licensed person carries out the maintenance of an aircraft. An AME engineer works in the sectors like Airlines, Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Industries, Aircraft and Aircraft Parts Manufacturing Industries, Aircraft Operation Organisation, Flying Clubs and Aviation Training Centres.

As per report, with 1,080 aircraft orders, India happens to be the 3rd largest buyer of passenger planes in the world. To meet the operational need of the airlines, cargo aircrafts, private jets, business jets, corporate jets, General Aviation and MRO industries, there exists an urgent requirement for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers. There will be 5 Lakhs new jobs in Indian aviation industry by 2022 as per Govt. of India estimation and planning.

Laboratory Details

AIRFRAME SHOP: The Lab has a variety of airframe components in discrete quantity used to describe all basic and advanced systems in terms of construction, layout, uses and operational features.

RADIO LAB: The Lab is to train the students on radio and navigation system components and different terms used in controlling of air traffic in aviation. It has a number of layouts, training kits, transmitting circuits and their corresponding receivers.

ENGINE LAB: Engines are considered a heart (power source) of aircraft. The institute lab has a lot of engine components and accessories for ease of inspection and understanding of their design, construction, materials, attachment and functional features.
